Suddenly Snow

  1. Ah, Skipper if it is of any consolation my daughter just called, she couldn’t go to work as her car is frozen shut, her dad had to crawl into his via the hatchback (I won’t sleep for a week on that vision) and it’s headed for us! What fun. My mil called (in the midst of the Bengals WIN) to say she was coming (today) I almost blurted out ‘are you nuts?’ now I can’t find her cell #, I can’t get through to my sil who is somewhere between Toledo and here (if they aren’t stuck in Toledo) and I can’t get through to my boss - who I believe might be on her way further south in FL as her Grandmother is finally terminal. So I’ve finished cleaning and am now free to mess around until my mil gets here or my boss calls - whichever comes first.

Snow does not faze me at all - ice I can do without, especially here - given Cincy’s ‘nickname’ is Seven hills. Ice will close things down for a while. I hope I can get out when hubby gets home (of all days to have to drive them in) so I can make a quick run to the store to stock up on necessities.

On your hot chocolate - I would say go for it - just adding in ratios that sound appealing to you.

Haven’t had a drink in a while - so I am no longer up on my bartending skills. What’s the Nike slogan - Just do it?!? Go for it.

  2. It hasn’t yet gone to heck in a handbasket around here yet, still in the 60s, cloudy, light wind.

Let’s see if this radar automatically image updates itself or not:

  3. Yup, it automatically updates, now you can track NH / NE weather with just a click big surprise

Re the SkipMobile, I was expectin an HMMV, with the .50 cal option, and some up-armoring… And, of course the necessary creature-comfort additions…

  4. Hummer? No way! That’s a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 Limited with the 5.7 Liter HEMI Engine, dude! 335 snarling horses under the hood. Boston Acoustics surround sound, GPS, Sirius satellite radio, rear-seat DVD theater with fold-down screen and headphones. Oh, yeah - it also has Quadra-Trac II “Trail-Rated” drivetrain. Go anywhere in style!

No .50 cal under the headlights though. The driver has to depend on the 12-gauge under the seat and the M1911 .45 ACP in the console.

I’m leaving him parked today though. Too many goober-butts out there on the roads.

Good luck in New Hampshire. You may have a Nor’Easter on the way. A perfect storm is forming just off the Eastern Seaboard.

  6. I was in the 60’s here today. Gonna get into the low 30’s tonight.
It would be nice to see some snow, just as long as it melts within 24 hours!

  7. It was 86 today, more of the same tomorrow. Last week it actually got in the low 50’s, just in time for NASCAR and Thanksgiving. Wish for more weather in the 40’s just to kill the mosquitoes.

  8. Personally I’d go with hot cider(lots of rum). Or, what’s fondly known as “hot buttered rum”. This can be found on google, and is one of my personal favorite human anti-freeze substances.
