While we feel we were in that screwed by the lenders group - apparently not quite. The greedy ventured even farther down the borrower food chain than us and are now paying for it. Here I thought (when I heard the first screeds from the media) that this was nationally known and big time companies - I should have known.
Bet my next door neighbors are in the group though - ‘can’t’ pay their water bill but go out and get a 3rd car (#1 a ‘classic’ mustang doesn’t get driven) and whinning about insurance and then go get direct tv - what a crock.
I will be more than happy to toss the phones and cable tv before I even consider missing a house payment. . .but thank God we aren’t even close - even without anyone working right now. It is called living within ones means - so what if I don’t sit in the stadium to see the game, or wait until dvd release to see the ‘latest’ movie (most aren’t even worth that price - glad I found Redbox $1. dvd rental - my kind of price). And so what that we are missing the 3000 calorie dinner at the ‘hottest’ place - that is just better for our health and pocketbook. By the time my hubby does get re-employed - we will be so use to it - we will have the money to go see the grandkids WHEN WE WANT.
Having said that - ownership is no longer financially what it used to be cracked up to be. Not seeing much advantage over renting. . .Maybe when we sell it and make a few grand, I will remember what the diff is.
