  1. Two things - where is/was the Father? The women who claim familial relationship aren’t the same ‘race’ as the gangster shot by the police. Notice no mention of him and his current state of being or not. I also, sort of remember, he had a gun or was attempting some sort of escape, hence the shooting of him. And secondly - Irish and black - what a combo. Sorry - I have Irish in my ancestry - but since they changed their names upon arrival in America - let’s me know that the not-so-law-abidingness of the Irish goes back a long, long time.

  2. Look on the bright side, it give you something interesting to vent about so we don’t have to have you writing stories of puppies and crazy welsh farmers.

  3. Some cases really are bizarre.  In South Carolina there’s a case where a yout was shot in the face with a 45 at close range while handcuffed in the back of a squad car.  The cops claim they have proof that it was suicide.

Now, can someone explain to me how a handcuffed suspect, who I presume was at least moderately searched before he was placed in the back of the squad car, gets a gun as big as a 45, points it at his face and pulls the trigger?

The proof the cops claim is that there’s powder residue on a glove the kid wore and none on the officer’s hands.  It seems to me that when the cops searched him, they’d have had him remove any gloves he was wearing.  There wouldn’t be any powder residue on the cop’s hands if he wore the glove, killed the kid and then put the glove on the kid’s hand.  They’re not even claiming they have any fingerprints at all on the gun.  That’s abnormally clean for a gun carried by a teenage punk wannabe.

I don’t care if the kid had it coming or not.  This one stinks to high heaven.

  4. Hi Doc, That does look bizarre indeed.  Can not believe it actually happened. When? Where in SC?
Reason I ask is, anything like that would be covered over here like a blanket. Not because it happened. Oh no. But because it happened in the USA.

  5. Wardmom, No escape tried.  But he did have a gun which he threw away. Cop only had seconds to think about it if that. They knew he was armed and so. Bang. One less vermin on the streets. But oh my,,,his so called “mates” in the world of gangs, are now threatening to kill two policeman. Any two will do.
His mother is white and ur right. No mention of father.

  6. My problem isn’t the possible innocence of the victim, it’s the level of street justice administered by the cops.  Execution of a handcuffed suspect is pretty extreme.

Back during the Rampart Scandal here in Los Angeles, we had a scary case.  Two Rampart cops killed a guy who was not only innocent, but a real family man as well.  They tried to cover it up by planting a shotgun on his body.  That’s part of the final report.

I know well that the “innocent youts” are a real problem that needs tight policing.  I just have a problem when it turns into summary execution under questionable circumstances.

I haven’t looked to other sources, here’s the original article I read:

    Handcuffed Suspect Shot in S.C.
