I’ve chipped a tooth. Never broken one. The pain must be intense. Get well soon.
It isn’t the pain so much as the kind of pain. Kidney stone actually hurts more but isn’t as focused a pain. Imagine the barb of a really large fishhook deep in your skin, being pulled on and pulled on but never coming out. Then think of a sturdy pair of pliers grabbing a bit of flesh and pinching with the strength of Atlas. And twisting. Until you turn almost inside out. Now apply considerable amounts of electricity to the hook and the pliers. That’s about how it feels. A needle sharp shocking intensity felt on the surface that seems to go all the way down to the bone.
Oh wait. I had a tooth removed, so it WAS sharp needles stuck in my flesh followed by a surface incision and something pulled with pliers out of my body that went all the way down to the (jaw) bone. Guess my senses aren’t too addled after all!
31 hours later though and the pain has mellowed quite a bit though. Still pretty sore, and it’s very tiring dealing with that much pain. Cold compresses keep the swelling in check. Drugs aren’t helping much actually. By tomorrow morning I should be doing Ok. Please.
[fingers crossed] the snow seems to have nearly missed us.
Get ready (storm) we had ice and then topped it with snow. The good news - more like a couple of inches compared to the 6 inches to a foot that was predicted.
If you’ve got pain meds you can cut the time between doses. DO NOT INCREASE THE DOSAGE!
