Hey Drew, any reason you’re not just slaving the old drive into the new system to copy faster that way?
Good luck man, I went several rounds with Windows 7 until I either had a replacement tool that did what I want, or I cudgeled the operating system into doing what I want.
One thing mine is still doing to me that I hate is that it INSISTS on giving me different Windows Explorer columns based on what media folders it’s looking at. They’re JUST files you Microsoft Monkeys, give me the standard columns! *argh*
This is another interruption of a blog thread by me,for good reason.

This might help you take better and more control over your Win 7.
Windows 7 allows you to make a GodMode folder (just like Windows 8).
Create a folder (maybe on your desktop) and rename it:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
It will automatically change into the God Mode folder and within will be almost every setting for your system.
Here’s a c|net article about it and will show illustrations.

I hope this helps,

Aunty, it’s been ages! Glad to hear from you again. Thanks for the tip; I’ll look into it. Right now I have my doubts about any Deus ex Machina; if there is any spirit inside W7 I think it has horns and a pointy tail!
