  1. There is nothing better than a succinct message and a visual to make things easy to understand.

    Thanks, Z

  4. Notice the source of the chart:  Congressional Budget Office

Where are Military, Medicaid and Federal Education funds going to come from question

But wait, no money for Congresscritters, this might be a good thing. flag

  5. What annoys me is that the pols have been using the SS taxes for “other purposes” and putting IOUs in the safe. This started with FDR who financed a lot of his alphabet projects with SS funds and the practice has continued to date.

This is why the SS taxes and limits went up, not because of outlays.

Just like borrowing from yourself, there is really no way to pay it back.

The pols have been misdirecting these funds for decades because they didn’t want to be seen to raise regular taxes and wouldn’t trim their spending.

Now too many, for their own selfish reasons, won’t admit that there’s a problem with this.

  6. Oh, and I believe that the resistance to Personal Savings Accounts is because they won’t be able to access that money.

    I say “GOOD!”

They’re like crack whores with other people’s money.

  7. Crack whores are better than Politicians.

2008 - The oldest Baby Boomers are 62 years old.  They can’t get Medicare yet but can enroll into Social Security by taking a reduction in monthly payments.  In 3 more years all Boomers get Medicare and full Social Security payments.

Star was a drug addict and she says, “Our task is to devise a plan to let workers opt for Personal Savings Accounts (PSA).  And, in the meantime, we must tap our resources to meet existing obligations to current retirees.  That’s it.  Clear and simple.”

We need a President in 2008 that can read charts and stop hozen us.  That’s it.  Clear and simple.
