  1. Yes but we are talking about England, I bet you would find a handgun for sale in a pub nearby!!

  2. peiper, it’s very simple:

If this is private property, and the owners show up, then the illegal aliens are just shotgun fodder.

If the British government no longer protects private property rights, then they’ve abrogated all British law since the Magna Carta. Hello Prince Charles, aka King John II.

There’s a reason no British ruler adopted ‘John’ as his nameā€¦ It’s because King John would be fine with violating private property rights. The difference is, back in 1215, some barons (MPs?) forced the king to recognize property rights.

Apparently the current ruler (sorry, I like the Queen, but she is getting on...) doesn’t recognize her/his duty to enforce private property rights. Face it, unless you enforce private property rights, you have no rights. Even the right to engage in commerce involves private property.

Another aspect of owning private property, which we here in the US inherited, was the right to protect our lives and property.

Shoot the bastards. That’s what I would do. They are no different from any other ‘illegal alien/hostile invader.’

  3. Ireland’s worse regarding squatters.

It’s the “180-degree” syndrome. Squatters/trespassers become the victims and the home owner becomes the interloper. The Garda (police) will not act or intervene. The home owner must hire a Solicitor (lawyer) who then applies to the courts for an eviction notice. The entire proceess may take up to 6-months. Then, if it takes place at all the eviction is presided over by a “sheriff”. The Garda (Irish police) usually will not get involved................Unless the property is owned by a politicial or politically connected person.

  4. Christopher .... While I’m not a huge fan of the prince (Charles) none of this is his direct or even indirect doing and has nothing to do with the royal family and certainly not the Queen.  You are very mistaken if you think the royals have a say in this matter cos they don’t.  In fact, they aren’t even allowed public statements on policy or law. Now privately, who knows who’s saying what to who but the basic fact remains, it’s naught to do with them.

While the Queen may be “getting on” let me assure you she is still pretty damn sharp and hasn’t lost any marbles.

I fully agree with the idea of shooting the verminous bastards. Referring to the squatters of course.

    NJ Yankee ....
What you describe with regard to Ireland is the same here. Home owner has to go to court and lots of luck getting in quickly. You can not by law break into your own home once occupied.
And like Ireland, and anywhere else for that matter, you’re so right.
The politically connected won’t have a problem, and that’s always a given. If they had to face the same crap that the average person did, we wouldn’t be reading about these outrages.

  5. Chris (Edwards) Guns? Pubs?  Seriously?

Might be easier in some parts of London but don’t know about here. However, I have read about ppl looking for things and meeting someone they thought sympathetic in a pub and then found to their regret, they’d been talking to an undercover cop. But to be honest, at my age I’d risk it if faced with this problem. And if successful and found one, would certainly be up on more serious charges cos I would not hesitate to shoot the scum.
The law on this is desperate for updating or trashing as time have sure changed. But the damned politicians (as you’ve read here) are still .... “consulting.” That’s maddening.
Those ass wipes are consulting while property owners, homeowners who are paying ALL the bills, are locked out. And it’s been going on for years and years, but has gotten worse lately with the advent of invitations made very publicly by the squatters and their enablers through that newspaper mentioned earlier. A tip sheet. AND even worse, foreign squatters are moving in on the prize because they have been informed how easy it is here to get away with it.
The ‘consulting’ might end when some home owner with a shotgun says fuck it. I’ve had it and blows away the bastards invading his/her home.  And you can be sure that some damn lawyer somewhere will find next of kin to sue the homeowner. Which means that once freed the now broke ex homeowner would have to go after that lawyer and the party that sued.
Oh well, there’s no death penalty here so what the heck.
Things sure do get complicated in this modern world.

  6. They hide their faces just like terrorists.  Shoot them all.  They say that the gun was the only law in the old west, maybe it’s time to play cowboys and gypsies?

  7. peiper, no disrespect intended about the Queen. I’d have to agree that she is still sharp. My ‘bad’ on that. Charles is another matter. He’s an idiot. He believes in anthropogenic global warming.

But I fail to see the point of having a Queen/King if they don’t have any say on policy. What are the royal family then? National pets? Don’t they have any sway in government? At least as much as Victoria and Prince Albert? Or am I just old-fashioned?
