   I suppose Bob Grahm (D-FL) would have been a better choice? Hell, GW could have asked his Dad to come out of retirement and run thr CIA again.

4. Everyone stop for a moment and take a deep breath.  Now that everyone is calm, let me ask a question:

   Can any of you recall a time when EITHER party seemed so paranoid about the behaviour of the other?

   I don’t mean angry, as the Reps were with Clinton, or the Dem’s were with Reagan or Nixon.  I mean DEEP-SEATED paranoia.

   I am 60 and I don’t.  Nor do I recall reading about such a period earlier in our history, and we have had some unpopular Presidents - e.g. some folks said that FDR knew about the impending attack on Pearl and did nothing, but this was individuals, not a complete freaking party.

It doesn’t matter who GW nominates, the demorats are going to piss and moan about it.  They have no concern for the welfare of this nation or its peoples.  If nothing happens, they say Bush is causing fear and if something happens they will say Bush didn’t do enough.  It’s easy when your neck isn’t on the chopping block.
