Would you believe, a good article from the European Press? Important Note: The government “creates” jobs by taxing successful businesses (i.e. people), thereby destroying at least one job for every one it creates. The way to create jobs is by establishing justice thru the courts and let people who make money keep it.

Our immigrants from the south are generally catholic, Europe’s are muslim, that difference there is why we won’t have this same kind of problem. Catholics don’t tend to be quite so violent as a whole these days.
Elliott—Yes, Northern Ireland being an exception. Worldwide, we’re pretty tame. Blowing yourself up along with a bunch of innocents is called a mortal sin. As the Pope reminded the wacko bastards in Ireland a few hundred times. Too bad they didn’t stick around to make sure the bomb worked. No official in the Church supported them.

Spain recently gave an amnesty to thousands of these deadbeats. I don’t see this being much of an incentive to stopping them coming across the Straits of Gibraltar. What would work is torpedo gunboats, but that probably wouldn’t be too popular with most of the voters! I remember a few years ago reading about Canada’s approach to illegal Chinese. It is extremely difficult to deport Chinese. The Chinese government basically doesn’t want them back. So they put plenty of obstacles in place to make it difficult. The Canadians threatened China with trade tariffs. This got their attention and lo and behold they started accepting deportations without all the fuss. Not sure you could apply this to the Spanish problem. I expect what will hapen is the Spanish will give them Spanish passports in the hope they will piss off to England. Pretty much the approach the Dutch used to “solve” their immigration problem.
In Britain there is never enough detention space to hold all the people that turn up without passports and people that should be refused entry. So they are released with a ticket to come back in a week or so. Not surprisingly hardly any ever come back. The government here wants to hold suspected terrorists for 90 days. Excuse me, but what’s the ‘kin’ point? If we allow hundreds of people to enter the country illegally every week because we don’t have anywhere to hold them, then I fail to see how holding “terrorists” for 90 days rather than 14 will make the slightest difference.
Moslem countries make the same distinction between Catholics and Protestants that anti-semites make between Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews—Zero. NOTE QUALIFICATION>> Sad to say, they have generally treat both better than the Catholic Church has historically treated Jews. No longer true, but was for milennia.

That’s why I made the distinction “as a whole.” They’re the exception and not the rule, muslims appear to be the opposite
Elliot: very true. Touchy subject, ‘cause my Church has had way more than its fair share of venal, malignant Sorry Bastards, but I wish the Moslems had a Pope. Or something like it—call him The Skipper* .. whatever. Some person (not a committee) in every organization should have the power to say, “That’s not what we’re about! You’re outta here.” If he endorses or ignores mass murder of innocents, we’ll know how to deal with him.
* The Skipper performs that role at BMEWS. Not saying he’s a Sorry…

Huh? The cops standing around with their thumbs up their ass and officials calling for calm won’t do the job? Damn. The story says that one French town has gone so far as to consider a curfew!
I do believe that I considered stories of French emasculation to be 50% parodies. Until now.

My son’s ship picked up some illegal immigrants going from Morocco to Spain. They initialy refused any help but since their boat was taking on water they decided to cast their collective fate to the hands of the US Navy. The US Navy turned them all over to Spanish authorities. This was a death sentence for everyone of the illegals because Morocco executes any citizens returned by Spain.
