    5. Celluloid is essentially nitro-cellulose, the same stuff modern gunpowder is made from.
    Gun cotton and cordite were other early forms of the same stuff. Old time “nitrate” movie film was made from it, and burns like mad. Safety film came out in the 30s or 40s. Ping pong balls are still made from the stuff. Want to impress yourself? Hold a match to a ping pong ball. Phhhwoooof! Quite the little fireball. Don’t try this at home kids!
