She looks like she ought to have been in Russ Meyer’s films.
Good ole Hammer pioneered horror films in gory glorious color.
Peter Cushing WAS Van Helsing—warrior, realist, Christian.
She was the librarian in The Wicker Man.
Sad day.
I grew up on Hammer films.
I do think The Wicker Man might have been her best film. Not saying it was her best performance. But The Wicker Man is the only Hammer film I own. I liked the vampire films, but as an adult, they sucked.
Now I’m gonna have to watch The Wicker Man again.
I just cant believe Count Dooku was so wicked in that one.
I loved the Wicker Man - even though I’m not a big horror film fan. Too bad it had to compete with The Exorcist that year - as The Silent Partner (Canada, 1978) had to compete with Grease - sometimes the best movies aren’t the highest grossers in the box offices.
Interesting wardmama4,
I’ve never yet seen The Exorcist. I also don’t intend to ever view it. I’ve also yet to ever see Grease. I may yet succumb to popular opinion and see Grease. At least that would be an upbeat movie.
I must point out, in all honesty, that I don’t remember The Wicker Man in theaters. It was a ‘Sammy Terry’ late show feature on a local TV station in Indianapolis. Search for ‘Sammy Terry’ on your search engine of choice. I grew up with Sammy Terry’s Late Night Theater.
I’ve also perfected his laugh. Drives my wife wild when I do the ‘Sammy Terry’ laugh. I still don’t know if she likes, or hates it, she just shuts me up by taking her clothes off…
BMEWS is still rated ‘R’, right?
