  1. I think it’s hysterical that the son is upset about all the attention. He didn’t care when he was getting away with being an ass, but now he’s embarassed. Too damn bad! I’m thinking about trying the same tactic at my house with my teenager.

  2. Gotta love those wacky Florida Moms…

This has got to be a winner, works for me…

  3. When guilt doesn’t work it’s time for the big guns: embarrasment. Not that I was a big pile of trouble for my parents but something like that would have gotten my attention right away....smile

  4. Frankly, what we have here is a typical example of liberal parenting. The second sentence in the article tells all…

Bribery hasn’t worked. Bargaining hasn’t worked. A gaggle of psychologists and child-rearing experts couldn’t help.

Not once in their 17 & 12 years did these two kids ever receive a good old-fashioned @ss-whupping.

Yep, I’m not sure that these two striking ‘adults’ deserve to be called ‘parents.’ The article leaves me with the impression that they wanted to be ‘friends’ with the children, not parents.

Then the alleged ‘parents’ really show how stupid they are by going on strike and moving OUT OF THE HOUSE THEY PAY FOR!

Reminds me of the scene near the end of the movie LIfe of Brian… The Jerusalem Suicide Squad shows up at the foot of the cross that Brian is being crucified on… Does the Jerusalem Suicide Squad rescue Brian? NO. They commit suicide at the foot of Brian’s cross… the leader’s last comment being ‘That’ll show them.’

Moving out of YOUR house that YOU pay for? Yeah, that’ll show them.

  5. "Not once in their 17 & 12 years did these two kids ever receive a good old-fashioned @ss-whupping.”

You hit that one on the head Christopher, bet nobody thought of that, why that’s just down right so not done anymore by those progresive stupid type parents…

“Then the alleged ‘parents’ really show how stupid they are by going on strike and moving OUT OF THE HOUSE THEY PAY FOR!”

Well in this case not so stupid. If they’d locked their kids out in this state they’d be in major deep dodo legally and most likely arrested and the kids put in foster care.

Looks like it’s working on the 12 year old, but Mr Hot Shot 17 year old is being traumatised. He’ll probably be in court using that as defence for some felony in a couple years…

Just goes to show how the State, any State, screws up when trying to ‘parent’ children.

Looks like it’s working on the 12 year old, but Mr Hot Shot 17 year old is being traumatised.

Frankly, by the time I was 12, I’d been ‘traumatised’ enough by @ss-whuppings that my parents never had to resort to ‘bribery’, ‘bargaining’. or ‘child-rearing experts.’ And I turned out OK. So did my sisters…
