I absolutely agree with her. If smoking is so bad, why doesn’t Her Majesty’s gov’t simply outlaw tobacco? Is it because, as is the case in the States, the gov’t would lose too much tax revenue?
Chris - because here in the US it used to be a 12 billion off the top tax revenue (and that doesn’t count all the property tax & miscellaneous taxes from start to finish in the process of producing them). Now when they need funds to pay for another universal healthcare scheme - they just pool together some ex/smokers and sue the companies pants off to funnel into the State, Federal and usually General Fund coffers.
Besides look what Prohibition did - I’m sure that despite their track records of not learning on entitlement failures and other forms of social engineering from centralized government - they don’t ever want to rile up the ‘stupid masses’ that much again. [the (p)Resident and the crapweasels in DC have failed to see how their ham-handed and behind the back at midnight Christmas eve passage of Obamacare has already done that - and the election result in Nov 2010 should have shown it - I do fear what this bunch will do in the Lame Duck session when the (p)Resident is not re-elected and hopefully the Senate turns R)
Stupid laws by stupid people whose only desire is to ‘punish’ those they blame (i.e. hard working and successful people) for their failures with the puny little power that they have.

Oh, it definitely attracts vermin. Says so right there in the article that as soon as she dropped the cigarette butt, she was attacked by vermin.
