  1. Like hell the war in Afghanistan can’t be won. Negotiation my ass. “Invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them all the Christianity.” Heard that before perhaps? Then bring in a massive pipeline from the sea and build huge desalination plants and turn the whole country into a farm. I bet they could grow wheat and cattle there just fine if they had some H2O. Oh, the pipe would have to run through Syria? Hey Syria, let’s make a deal ... let us put the pipe through here, and you’ll guarantee that it never gets blown up, or even leaks a drop, or we’ll kill all of you next Wednesday. Deal? Great!

Ooooh, “warlords” control this section and that section of the country!!! Wanna bet? Put me in charge for 1 hour. BOOM. Warlords, what warlords? Insurgents? Weee doan have no steenking insurgents!

Opium growing out of control!!! Wanna bet? Put me in charge for 1 hour. FOOMP! Up in flames. Opium, what opium?

Border issues with Pakistan, the Pakis can’t control that area!!!! I CAN.

Neither this war nor the one in Iraq will be WON until the US decides to actually FIGHT. Hey, our guys in green are doing the best they can under the orders they’ve got, but they aren’t getting the right orders. Take off the damn gloves or go the hell home. Both of these countries haven’t been shown that they have been defeated yet.

  3. Frist and Hastert have both been disappointing leaders. Frist can’t even herd the folks on his side of the aisle and Hastert is rarely heard from! I said it before, but politics is nasty business and no place for those who are afraid of a bloody nose! Time to get dirty! .. toilet_monster

  4. 5. Bulldog - NAPALM works just fine on flowers too. From what I’ve read, the world needs about 10,000 pounds of medical opium a year. Cash crop for the Afghanis, and this is where the best stuff comes from. Use the other fields as bombing practice zones, and “forget” to tell the locals you’re coming.

  6. The inside-the-Beltway mentality of the timorous, trembling, thoroughly useless mouse strikes again!

Why the hell did we bother to do anything in Afghanistan, if the SOBs we drove out of Kabul should be there after all?  Does this clown actually think that they will accept being “in” the government when once they were ALL of it?  He is simply asking for matters to end worse than they begin!  And this outburst only tells our enemies that yet another one of our leaders has lost his so-called nerve!  Bring on the panties and prepare for the flood!

If we gave up the minute we started facing kamikazes in the Pacific, Pearl Harbor would be unavenged to this day, and the Axis view of us would have been borne out.  Divided, materialistic, shallow, superficial, devoted to pleasure, quick to fold when the going got tough!  That is how they thought of us.  Their armed forces were fed on such notions, and the Japanese in particular were persuaded that their “spiritual strength” alone would be more than a match for us.  Does all this sound familiar?

Well.  We unpersuaded our enemies then, and we could unpersuade our enemies now.  But there is one major difference.  Washington was not a matter of all mice and no men in those days.  And furthermore, we locked up fifth columnists instead of toadying to them with moralistic spiels about “not questioning their patriotism.”

What a damned shame that nowadays, the only alternative to the mice in Washington is a pack of stinking, traitorous rats!

    Piss be upon them!

    cool mad

  8. I don’t think I can remember anyone ever being impressed with Frist. Wait!.......... could it be ............ maybe a nefarious plot to draw the Taliban in and then eliminate them?

NAH! He’s not that smart and his comments are starting to prove that. Too bad, though, it might have worked. He’s a loser
