  1. Some people are trying to make the Walter Reed and VA problems (two problems, same source) out to be something that has just happened over the past few years. As someone that has been going to the VA since 1992, and my father went from 1981 until his death in 2005, I can tell you, it ain’t a new invention.

  2. @#$@%&*(*&&((*%^#@%^&*())____+_(*^&%$#@@!@!and for good measure damn.

I will only write that perhaps, just maybe, possibly that the slash and burn attitude of the former President Clinton and his Congress of 8 years - had just a tad, a bit to do with some of the issues now being screeded as ‘just breaking’ news.

And oh yes, Ms Clinton et al have been VOTING (or should have) on bills, allotments, funding, rules, regulations, etc et al ad nauseum for years - before Mr Bush even took office - so might they have a hand in this ‘just breaking’ situation?

And finally WRACH is on the 2005 BRAC list - (OIF was going full tilt boogy then and yes, wounded were being sent there) so why oh why did the congress critters let it happen (i.e. DO IT)? Why did they not vote NO (or HELL NO) or maybe, even vote more money for it?

Because as Draven pointed out - this is not ‘news’. The VA is the bastard step child of the military and the majority of politicians - all parties have underfunded it since it’s inception. And the dems are just using this as another stick to beat the President with. They are 532 - President Bush is just one; the majority of the 532 have been in office 2 terms or more, President Bush is in the last 19 months of his second term - who is more to blame?

Damn again, I am disappointed that even Cox & Forkum have descended to the immaturish and demeaning depiction of a ‘soldier’. . .I am truly beginning to despise the media.

  3. The VA was messed up during the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and remains currently messed up.  It needs to be removed from under the jurisdiction of the US military.  Perhaps the combat disabled veterans should receive the same level of care our congress critters do since the combat injured have given much more in the service to their country than have most congress critters.
