  1. I say give her what she wants. It’ll show how badly the mayor of N’awlins and th governor of Louisiana screwed the pooch. As they are both Dems this would not be the desired result for Hitlery. Of course, if she can load the panel like the 9/11 commission was loaded with Clintonistas.....

  2. Well for one you use all of those school buses that were just sitting around and that got flooded. You have the military and police take total control of one lane of traffic and shoot anyone who tries to enter that lane, and in that lane you put all of the poor people on the buses and send them out of the city escorted by the police and military.

  3. Too late, CMM. The adults are in charge now. You should have heard LtGen Honoré at a press conference today. He’s not gonna take any bullshit off of anybody, particularly smartass reporters who like to pose politically charged questions. This is one no-nonsense guy. He’s gonna get shit done. Believe me.

  4. IMHO, she’s evil and not an idiot at all, but rather wants to make political hay out of a disaster.  To even think about playing such a grandstanding blame game at the moment, with perhaps ~1 million homeless and/or jobless, is repugnant.

As to breaking out FEMA, until the local authorities(mayor, governor) declare an emergency and ask for help, FEMA must wait, which is as it should be.  Hildabeast may want to change that in the name of greater good for more people, but we already have enough, nay, too much intrusion of the Feds into states’ and individuals’ rights.

I’m with you Stin, in that we let her have her hearings, but later, not now when there is more immediate work to be done by the people that would have to prepare to testify.  When the hearings do happen, and they will, I hope they are in full daylight by honest people, and the world will see how certain Democrats stepped on their dicks and caused the deaths of many people.

  5. Yep, just what we need, a Clintonista whitewash of liberal icompetence.  Blanco and Nagin are the faces of affirmative action.

  6. Speaking of “grownups” Bill Wittle has a new essay up. It should be recommended reading. At least I’m recommending it.

  7. Stin, I agree that this essay should be recommended reading.  I am sending that link to almost everyone I know.

Anyone else think that the Hildebeast is thinking this is her ticket to the White House?

  8. I think Bush and Congress will have hearings. Things went badly and we should investigate and improve.

The “things that went badly” certainly began with the NO city officials who have showed zero skills. The LA governor also seems astonishingly inept. At the federal level things are harder to sort out because FEMA’s role is to quickly supplement and strengthen the local emergency management. If there is no local government it all becomes improvised. And that seems to be what happened here.

Hillary continues to take the calm centerist position she thinks will lead to the presidency. It may be politics but that is no reason why every comment she makes should be attacked.

Personally I don’t think it matters who FEMA reports to in Washington. Big disasters will always hurt. Sometimes they will destroy local government. In this case the local government seems to have been worse than useless.

  9. KenS, who you jivin’ with this cosmic debri? finger

You say, “Hillary continues to take the calm centerist position she thinks will lead to the presidency.  It may be politics but that is no reason why every comment she makes should be attacked.”

Oh please, go to moveon.org where dumb asses like you belong.  Hillary is a Socialist and tried to Socialize American health care.  Don’t you remember?

Your mind is totally controlled.  It has been stuffed into the Hillary mold.  Of course, you must do what you are told.  But here, we call a spade a spade and Hillary a Socialist.  Sorry, but Deaniacs like you will never win another election.

New York News Flash: New York HMO’s raising rates 25% because of their controlled government Monopoly which eliminates all competition.  This other Ken is reporting:  “ September 5, 2005—ALBANY — New York’s health-insurance rates continue to climb sky high, with two-thirds of its 12 HMOs having jacked up their premiums by as much as 25 percent in the last year.
The increases mean hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars more in premiums — raising fears that the number of uninsured individuals and families in New York City could soar.

Let’s keep the far left-wing-Liberal-lunatic Hillary in New York, even if she is pretending she is not a Socialist, which she is.

KenS, please go blog somewhere where dumb asses might believe you, you monkey. monkey

Competition is manditory in free and open markets - Dr. Neil Harl

HillaryCare Unveiled - by Dr. Miguel Faria

One of the most terrifying features of the rejected HillaryCare proposal, through which the Clinton Administration attempted to seize the health care industry and nationalize 15 percent of our gross national product, was the section mandating the criminal prosecution of physicians for “bribery” and “fraud,” which would have included the provision of health care services deemed “medically unnecessary” by federal officials. These enforcement provisions were intended to put the muscle of federal enforcement power at the service of the Clinton Administration’s philosophy of medical rationing.

As explained by Hillary Clinton in testimony to the Senate Finance Committee on September 30, 1994, the Administration’s socialized medicine plan would not deny treatment unless “it is not appropriate,” meaning that in the view of government regulators, it “will not enhance or save the quality of life.” What of doctors who took their Oath of Hippocrates seriously and sought to provide treatments not covered by the federal plan? Under HillaryCare, if doctors provided “unauthorized” treatment on a fee-for-service basis, they would have been subject to fines as large as $50,000, forfeiture of their property, and — in some cases — life imprisonment. When such horrific provisions received widespread publicity, the HillaryCare scheme was defeated — apparently. It is not widely understood that the Administration’s rejected plan to socialize health care merely amplified the statist trend presently undermining our health care system. That trend is best described as “corporate socialized medicine” — or, if one prefers, medical fascism.

Under the ethics of Hippocrates, physicians place the interest of the individual patient above that of the practitioner or society at large. But under corporate socialized medicine, or what is more commonly known as “managed competition,” the physician is required to place cost considerations and the interest of third-party payers — such as insurance companies and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) — above the concerns of the patient. This leads to the adoption of what Swiss physician-philosopher Ernest Truffer calls the “veterinary ethic,” in which the human patient is treated like a pet and provided with the type of medical care determined by the “master” — in this case, the person or corporation responsible for paying the medical bills.
