  1. But...but...I thought tenure was supposed to protect unpopular viewpoints, too?  Never mind, he was only an adjunct professor (i.e., hired help) and therefore untenured.  I wonder how many of his tenured colleagues will resign in protest over this affront to academic freedom.  Don’t think I’ll hold my breath on that.

At least he’ll be free to go back to a regular job, unless he’s now considered “damaged goods”.

  2. It is not that the liberals are really truly into a death loving cult like the terrorists - come on Skipper - there is NOTHING that a liberal values enough to lay down their life. That is why they can go back and forth on any and all issues. There real agenda is that they want to wipe out everyone not them - problem is when you value nothing to the point of dying for - how do you wipe out everyone not them?

Hence their love of abortion, indoctrination in lieu of education, euthanasia, darwinism, environmentalism, gun control, anti-death penalty (which ironically they should be for enthusiastically - but they use this for supporting the criminal above the victim, society and besides it makes ‘em look humane) - anything to eradicate anyone else without even raising a hand.

While I do not endorse exactly this professors choice to re-enact - I get his point - it is time for Americans to learn how to defend themselves. If Reid and the defeatocrats get their way - we Americans will need to defend ourselves by 2008, certainly by January 2009.

  3. Has’t anyone ever heard of an AAR (After Action Review)?

Even the Greeks had one after Salamis.

I’ve done the same thing with my students so if something like this ever happens to us, we have a plan in place.  I can’t legally carry my pistol at school, so that makes us a troll’s Free Fire Zone.

We can, however, fight back by throwing every loose bit of material at an invading troll to throw his aim off and give the rest of us a chance to take him down.

Again, I don’t advocate the arming of everyone.  Those with CCL’s, military experience, etc should have the option to protect ourselves and those around us.  I don’t see how talking through a possible plan-of-action is grounds for dismissal.

  4. #2 - Forgive me, I’ve been reading too many leftist lunes this week - the last line of the first paragrah should read Their real agenda. . .

Sorry, I am now going to Word and write I will not read leftist drival a thousand times as penance.

  5. Remember he was an “Adjunct” Professor.  Adjunct mean “part-timer”.  They’re cheaper (health insurance coverage, no benefits) and they don’t qualify for tenure.

    Adjunct Professors are throwaway academics.

Hell, I can qualify as an “Adjunct Professor” in our local Junior College system.

  6. I sent this in.  I sure hope it makes sense to those jerks.

    To whom it may concern,

I’m just wondering why Mr Winset was fired after having a discussion about the shooting at Virginia Tech?  It looks like he was doing what was asked of him, to engage with the students on what happened on that Monday.  One has to wonder if this was because he took a positive view of gun use, because that’s what it looks like to me.  If it’s because of something else, I suggest you get it out there.  If it was only because he took a differing view of the situation than the school does, then this would seem like wrongful termination.

Taken from the AP report “The college issued a statement saying: “Emmanuel College has clear standards of classroom and campus conduct, and does not in any way condone the use of discriminatory or obscene language."”.  What discriminatory or obscene language was used?  Was it the mention of a weapon in the classroom?  What was it?  We’d really like to know.  Talking about what one might have to do to survive a situation like that doesn’t seem to be a bad idea.  What would your suggestion be?  Wait and hope the police show up in time?  Well, we know how that worked out, don’t we?

We need to have more, not less discussions like this.  This could happen in most any school, and most students will go along and be killed.  Not just because they didn’t have a weapon, but they don’t know they can fight back.  They’ve been taught to respect so many others “feelings” that they won’t stand up for their own lives.  This must stop and they need to know they won’t be cast out if they try to defend themselves when attacked.
