  1. Hmmm...all those guys in Rummy’s back are all “Cold Warriors,” aren’t they? That is enough explanation for me.

  2. All of these Generals were given the rank by Bill Clinton...And each one supported the ouster of Hussein and the Iraq war during his administration WTF

  3. Just another page in the DNC attack plan.

Rummy strikes me as being one of the most competent people I have seen in Washington in a very long time.

  4. Instruction in my Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry and Field Artillery Officer Advnced Courses, Command and General Staff Officers’ Course and in the Defense Strategy Course (US Army War College) all emphasized civilian control of the military.

Seems like these “perfumed princes” are either trying to pimp their books or were asleep during class.

Generals carry out National policy.  By most all accounts, Rumsfeld accepted maximum input from all of the commanders (tactical, operational, and strategic).  These clowns just didn’t like Rumsfeld’s attitude.  He didn’t kiss their Flag Officer asses.

Sometimes I think that we don’t deserve to win.

  5. Heard on Jay Leno:

George Bush cannot control his Generals, but Bill Clinton couldn’t control his “Privates”.  angel_devil

  6. Et tu Brute?

They should keep their opinions to themselves.

  7. These asshats had their rice bowls cracked when Rummy took to revamping the military from the heavy division cold-war model of containment and real-politik to a much more flexible force of light mobility, SF as well as heavy capability.

Now, when they have their fat pensions, now they complain.

Over 8000 retired and current flag officers and six of them bitch. Not a bad record, actually, given how much in-fighting and careerist back stabbing these climbers do.

  8. Must be slow day for the MSM.  Someone needs to tell these rich retirees to go back to playing golf or downing a few more drinks at the Officer’s Club.  It’s called retirement for a reason.  Sheesh.

  9. 4,700 Retired Generals (and corresponding ranks in other armed forces)

    6 speaking out

Not quite a firestorm for me . . .actually not even a blip on my give a s*** meter.

Just another media event taken from the Vietnam era playbook.

I just wonder when these morons are going to stop what has been a failing effort (Jersey Girls, RatherGate and the forged documents, ‘Mother’ Sheehan, Delay, Abramoff, Frist, Cheney/Haliburton/shooting, WMD/Bush lied, War for Oil, culture of corruption, NSA, leaks/Libby/PlameGate, etc etc etc) which have not put a single Bush administration in jail, stopped the war, nor stopped his re-election (first election since 1988 with a majority win) and
make a coherent, viable plan for the DNC?

BTW, found out today that even ‘Mother’ Sheehan is directly out of the Vietnam era playbook [check out the name Peg Mullens] But alas even the Mullens put a headstone on their son’s grave.
