  1. And just think ... I furnished my first apartment by becoming a world class dumpster diver.  I hate it when good skills go to waste.

  2. Our Salvation Army will take ANYTHING! Good people ‘round here.
I do deco. When I was little Jewish girl my parents had no problem with me going to Christmas paries, Santa always stopped by, I even sang in a CATHOLIC childrens choir-but they drew the line at a tree. My bro and I could say it was a “Chanukkah bush” all we wanted--It wasn’t gonna happen.
Since my conversion 8 years ago I’ve looked forward to decorating for the holidays-not all out mind you. It makes my house soooo twinkly smile

  3. I don’t do charities anymore since discovering http://www.freecycle.org

You post what you have to offer and someone will come and get it the next day!

I’ve gotten rid of lots of unwanted items with very little hassle and in record time.  Not to mention the fact that the people taking them, really use them!

  4. When I was 20 just back from ‘Nam, I got a
job driving the pick up truck for the SA.

If you knew how many sofas that go begging
and have to be disposed of you would freak.
Literally a semi a week and this was in
    Boise ID.

The SA has to pay big bucks to get rid of
them. Same for mattresses. Another semi a
    week.

The big thing now is cars and you would
not believe the junk people want to ...
    donate for a tax deduction.

So Scrooge, I respect your premise but
    this arguement ain’t flyin’.

Bah humbug dude. And merry fucking Xmas
    too.
