  1. 1972:  Bob brings shotgun to shop class to work on stock.  Vice Principal walks into class and tells Bob, “next time, let me know your bringing the gun to class”.  Before vice principal leaves, he gives Bob tips on bluing barrel.

  2. About 70% think Bush is the enemy.  They think it’s OK to shirk duty and will shrink from any serious commitment, particularly militarily.

Anonymous, I hate to say it but your wrong on the above statement, for the most part.  It’s high school seniors who are enlisting in the Armed Forces by the thousands each year.  Many of those men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq were in high school less than 8 months ago.  Just think, 8 months ago, their biggest worry was what to wear to the prom and today their worry is IED’s, survival, and the American Media looking to crucify them.

But, other than that, your right on the money.

  3. I had a smart ass comment I was going to make until I read the comments from Anonymous.  Hang in there.  If you speak the truth long enough, your word will become law.  I remember when Nixon made a lot about the silent majority.  Silence gives consent.  If you consent to a situation, so be it.  If you don’t, you not only have the right to speak up, it is your duty.  So many who call themselves liberal or progressive just aren’t interested in any sort of dialog to find a solution or even common ground.  Their minds are so made up, they have no concern for facts.  This is the antithesis of America as I understand and love it.  One last comment for Anonymous - I am an old 60’s radical.  I love freedom and I am constantly aghast at what has become of the whole concept of liberalism.  Today, I find I have so much more in common with people who call themselves conservatives than I do with any Democrat or “liberal”.

Hang in and good luck.  Why don’t you sign up and join the crew here?

  4. You have to remember, Casey Sheehan was the son of devote liberals.  Casey Sheehan enlisted in the Army and then reenlisted.  He volunteered for Iraq and for the mission that took his life.

NEVER put down the Coast Guard!!!  The Coast Guard is our first line of defense for our borders on the oceans.  They face all kinds of weather to save people who do stupid things.  They confront heavily armed drug runners and they themselves are lightly armed.  If you’re going into the Coast Guard, you have my respect and admiration.
