  1. How adorable - a face only a mother love...... LOL  You do know we are expecting a new baby elephant at our own St. Louis Zoo any day now..........Plus another elephant is pregnant - due in early 2007.........Both babies were sired by Raja, the first elephant born at the Zoo & one of the most popular animals there..........

  2. … one of the most popular animals there.

At least among the lady elephants, eh?

Sorry Dottie, it was irresistible...sorta like Raja, I suppose. LOL

  4. ON THIS VERY SUBJECT! We called our 4 year old Grandson. After taking two minutes to tell us about how he bloodied his finger, he said, ”OH, and I’m gonna be a big brother!”

(My Daughter-in-Law is only two months along, and she miscarried last time.)

    But, YES!!! You GO, Girl!!

  5. Best wishes to your Daugher-in-Law, Oink. I hope all goes well this time.

  6. Oink - “on this very subject” - you are not expecting an elephant!!!?????!!!!!

In all seriousness, I hope your daughter-in-law carries to term..........I, myself had 4 miscarriages during my younger days - I have an abnormality in my uterus & I was very lucky to carry 2 babies to term..........

  7. She’s not large (Korean) but only one miscarriage—my wife & I had one too—a lot of people have. Our doctor comforted us, saying if you knew all that had to go right you’d be surprised any babies make it to term.

She is a terrific woman; I love her a lot. I really felt a bond with her—she’s putting her body on the line for the future of the family. Poor Sweetie, after my Grandson was born she looked like an abused wife—black eyes. I love her a lot.

  8. Oink - for your information, my S.O. is a Korean man.........a most wonderful person - having to travel from No. Korea, where he was born, to So. Korea on foot with his father during the war and enduring the hardships this brought, he has a most wonderful outlook on life.............He loves his & our life - his love of life has rubbed off on me - he sees beauty in everything life has to offer...........even if the weather is dispicable, he will enter my home with the expression “Isn’t this a beautiful day”..........I love this man with all my heart............

  9. Dot: Wow! He’s fortunate to be alive. At what age & circumstances did he come to the USA?

My first son married a Korean gal, my second son a Thai, and my daughter is real serious about a Japanese guy. They’re like potato chips—you can’t stop with just one. LOL

I’ve invited him to visit us for Thanksgiving. I’ll plan a menu to combine bother of our heritages: Wasabi Cornbread and Catfish Sushi.

  10. Oink - looks like you have a multinational family - how delightful...........
My S.O. went to University in Seoul, joined the Korean Navy & was sent to Treasure Island in California..........from this experience he then immigrated to the U.S., went to Chicago and Indiana for further experience in his field of orthopedic surgery, and eventually came to St. Louis in 1972 and has been here eversince..............I met him in 1984 when we worked together in the hospital where I still work........Altho he is 71 years of age (to my 61), he is still active in his practice, still operating several days a week ( even tho he is semi-retired he is busier now than ever).................I didn’t become involved with him until after I was divorced - we discovered that we shared a love of photography & this is what brought us together.........and I guess the rest is history...........We love to go out on shoots around the St. Louis area - he likes to shoot landscapes & I love to shoot macro & we have the patience to allow each other to do what we like & we critique each others photos
...........I could go on & on but I think you know how I feel about him........
