  1. Why, you’d think that hustler was trying to sell folks on a Two Americas platform. Nobody would ever fall for that would they? Nah, he was only trying to push Communism, and we all know that was just a red herring.

“When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred, or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives. Working together to produce an ever greater abundance of materiel and spiritual values for all. That is the secret of American prosperity.”

Sure sounds a bit corny in today’s jaded world, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Chris, that video is magnificent. Thanks for making BMEWS join in the mini-blogswarm. You know, if you were a college student and you showed this on campus, you’d probably be expelled.  There is hardly a single point in the whole thing that people were proud of then that they aren’t ashamed of now. And the rest of it is vile stereotyping! (in other words, it’s pretty much true to life)

I looked at a couple other vids on the conservablogs site. I like this quote about another one:
“This film, produced in 1955 by Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas breaks down very simply why the United States is so productive and has such a high standard of living. Notice that the instructor mentions the “Freedom TO” do things not the “Freedom FROM” doing things. Today Collectivists trumpet freedom from hunger not the freedom to produce more food. The “Freedom to” is liberty, the “Freedom from” is dependancy.
Oh hell yeah, that one goes in the quotes file.

  3. It’s a pity that it’s such a cheese whistle, a lot of people will probably not think about how true it is just because of how cheesy it is. Dead on the money though, which probably explains why it never got the airplay of “Fahrenheit 911” or “An Inconvenient Truth”.
