Russian Realpolitik: Putin to Bush

 

1. Putin: Do you know how many civilians died in Chechnya when we suppressed the rebellion there? No one knows exactly, but the number is around 100,000. We know that half a million Chechens lost their homes. That’s half the country. We’ve been killing Muslims for 300 years. That’s why they respect us.
   Very good read,and it’s true.Muslims have always respected strength.

3. Shows why Russia is moribund and long overdue for disintegration, Were the US to up and disappear China would be taking over the Russian Far East and pushing recon into Siberia proper.

   For all intents and purposes Russia is an American protectorate, and neither Putin or Bush realize it.
