Smart move Drew.
Take some time to breathe.
Cheers
Bah 10 inches is nah but a dustin we’ve had almost 6 feet already his month.
I miss the kids - but since we saw everyone last year (2008, they were here) and we saw them again (here) at 4th of July - it wasn’t worth the risk. We got snow (about an 1 inch) on Christmas and it is snowing again. But I hear Nashville got snow too - Son’s family is at Ft Campbell - so we could have gotten caught - I say could have ‘cuz hubby would have driven even if there were several feet on the ground and it was blackout conditions - I’ve been there and done that - Not so much anymore!
We are tucked in - I took down the pathetic table top tree I had put up already. Just not in the cheery mood this year. The money is disappearing a lot faster than I intended and no one here has more than a nibble on resumes. So this coming week will be very busy for 3 of us to attempt to find some sort of employment. My hubby & daughter huddled over this while I was cooking the other day and said (both got their Bachelors this year) - Watch, Mom will be the one to get a job first!
We received a new nephew - John Bruno - just in time for Christmas - Dec 20 (so now May & Dec are overloaded with B’days - budget blasters) - hubby’s baby sister’s first (possibly only - as none of us are young any more) child.
The refrig and two freezers (not to mention a few boxes of canned jars in the basement) are full - so we shall sit it out watching football, movies and Food Network. We did a few oldies last night - while nibbling after dinner treats - Claymation Christmas, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas (without commercials, I love DVD).
I’m trying to talk my son into allowing us to use his $60 bottle of tequila for the New Years Toast (none of us do Champagne well) - he’s not buying yet. Hey maybe I’ll use the bottle of Sake.
Stay Warm and Stay Safe.
May 2011 be a much better and blessed Year for All in America.
And the snow keeps falling, and the wind keeps howling. Weather people are reporting 50+ mph winds right offshore, as the storm slowly moves up the coast. We have almost as much snow stuck to the sides of houses as we have on the ground. So far its been the coastal areas that have been hit hardest; Cape May has more than 18”. I think we’ve got 2”? Hard to tell with all the wind. Latest forecast says it will keep falling until tomorrow late afternoon, at which point the temps will go up and it will all start to thaw. This is New Jersey after all; snow rarely sticks around more than 3-4 days.
All the schools are on Christmas break, and most of the offices will be closed tomorrow too. I don’t know ... if this keeps up, we won’t be able to get to bowling tomorrow evening. That would be a tragedy!
*waves from sunny(?) Florida.*
I came down here for a break from the cold, but noooo. It’s 34 degrees outside and expected to get colder…
Of course, everyone is blaming me…
I’ll be back in the Winter Wonderland on Tuesday though..
A cousin in Mahhblehead? I spent some quality time in it’s waterfront bahhs during my formative years. Ask him about Mattie’s (also known as the Sail Loft).
I’m in Foxborough, Ma. Home of the NE Patriots. And the snow is just winding down here, with about 24” and some huge drifts. Winds are gusting at about 50mph.
OK, we all need to know. its monday night and the world is waiting.
DID YOU GET TO GO BOWLING??????????
