I remember when Rolling Stone debuted. It was really cool, but a lot of things were cool back then and have degenerated into monkey puss in 2013. Things like the whole 60’s culture.
It was the odd ball Wavy Gravy, with the rainbow afro, who said “If you can remember the 60’s you weren’t there.” All these decades later if you are disappointed in the 60’s you WERE there. The love, the peace, the whole thing was bullshit. It was the beginning of the end, the beginning of the social and political ass boil we have now.
Some good music is all that’s left.
In 1978 I was a freshman in college. I took advantage of the ‘student discounts’ and subscribed to Rolling Stone and Time. Didn’t take me long to figure out that these were not only shallow writers for both mags, but were pursuing the same liberal agenda. Back then they were protecting Jimmy Carter from that dangerous warmonger Renaldus Magnus. I have never subscribed to either rag since. I don’t even read them in the doctor’s office. (my dentist is a good Christian and doesn’t have such trash in his office.)
Good for him. A rotted tooth can be restored. A rotted mind cannot.
Is that the current issue of Rolling Stone?
If it is .... it sure is a different version then the one here that has caused much anger. It shows the killing bastard almost as a rock star and has been touched up well, a neat looking young man etc. Caused quite a storm.
It’s the August issue I believe.
Grayjohn .... your comment about the 60s and all that’s left is the music was right on. As you are here. Not hard to believe there is an audience for it, as standards have become lower and lower and the left has been in control of the schools and lets not forget the entertainment business, for decades.
