  1. Gosh, Rickles is still alive? And I thought there was only one WWI veteran still with us.

  2. Get real. Rickles was born in 1926. He’s hardly old enough to be a WWII vet! Much less a WWI vet.

Though he might have joined during the hostilities when he was of age.

  3. Until he came along I didn’t give a shit about politics,or voting.  But he stood up to the Russians, he had the balls to face them down.  I am part of the duck and cover generation, so it caught my attention.  Ronald Reagan made me proud of being an American.  I’ve never lost that pride, but I lost him.  God I miss the man!

  4. I always loved the old SNL Reagan ‘Mastermind’ sketch.

Lots of nervous laughter from the lib audience.

I always thought they were a bit closer to the truth than their ‘bumbler’ sketches.

“Jimmy! Don’t make me have to kill you...”

  5. The first clip was really funny.  The Roast shows were great.
The second clip was, well, what those of us that lived during the Reagan years except.

Ronald Reagan loved this country.  He exhibited his love for this country and its people almost every time he spoke.  He was truly in love with this country.

He showed his respect to this country, its traditions, and the people by just doing very simple things.  Example: Wearing a coat and tie (always) in the oval office.  Never denigrating his political opponents, never politicizing a major disaster.

What he did was remind us that we are the people that have created the greatest country in history, and that we can do anything that we want.

    Ronald Reagan NEVER;
Became President so he could enjoy the toys of the office,
Party continuously on the people’s dime,
Referred to people that he disagreed with as “enemies”.
Tried to control the lives of everyday Americans.

    What he DID do is;
    Respect America,
    Respect the office he held,
    Respect US.

In the eight years that he was president, I listened and read numerous accounts of how “out of touch” he was, and that he was a “likable bafoon”.  The one thing the left NEVER said or wrote about Ronald Reagan was that he was a self centered egotist.  They never claimed it because it was clearly not true.

Ronald Reagan loved the people and this country. He was one of us.  We were one with him.

    Happy Birthday Mr. President!

    You are missed.......

  6. Well said, Corsair, well said indeed.

  7. He was the first president I voted for too, but for his second election. I was handing out pamphlets and such for the first one. He was my Commander in Chief when I was in the Navy, which was where I went when my job at NASA flopped because of the Challenger. He was a father figure to the country, which was what we needed at the time.
    One of the greats.

  10. And yet… in a column in the mail today, an ass-wipe, a miserable %$!!!$%*)(*^$”!¬! I am so damned PO’d!  Dumped on him and makes the claim that it was Jimmah Carter who actually ended the cold war or at least set things up for Reagan to finish the job. See, that’s exactly why ppl like me should never own a gun, cos I’d like to shoot the bastard. And here I always thought it was okay to have a different opinion. But damnit. Carter?

Anyway ... you can’t even begin to imagine how angry I am at the moment. I usually avoid reading this idiot but due to the subject matter I did and wish I didn’t.

A simple man who so nearly destroyed us

    And here’s the MoFucker’s email.

Simplicities were, indeed, his speciality. The Cold War was, to him, an extension of Hollywood B-movies where there were good guys and bad guys, with the white hats eventually defeating the black hats in the final shoot-out.

I’d really enjoy busting his face with a ball bat or an iron bar. Maybe kneecap the shit.

  11. I forgot ...

If we have to single out a U.S. President who brought about the end of the Cold War, it would be Jimmy Carter.

according to the guy at the Mail.
I really, really, really wanna hurt that shit.

  12. The leftist shit has a point.  If Dhimmy Carter had not been so completely inept, anti-semetic, clueless, and just generally worthless, the people would not have awakened from their sleep and elected Ronald Reagan.
Gee, I’ve seen that pattern somewhere else..........
