  1. It is their right to eat whatever they want-and smoke too. I have seen the flip side of this. Last fall I was living on less than NINE HUNDRED calories and 15 grams of fat a day. My husband-pleasantly plump-eats what he wants and is good with it. Guess who’s needed more medical care-hint it’s not him.  Obesity isn’t societys fault. Anorexia and bulimia-while legit disorders-aren’t either. If I have a bad day with my bulimia-It’s up to ME to pull myself back-Just like it’s up to the over-weight person to work on eating and exercising better. Life is full of choices. They need to be made by US not the govt!

  2. Yes...but shouldn’t we be *required* to get thin....for...the children???

    *duck*

Kinda surprised that hasn’t been tossed around ....after all what kid wants to be around obese parents....(or, from the kids point of view *any* parent).  I am not in tip top shape but I bet I am within 25-30 lbs of what I weighed coming out of boot camp back in ‘73.

I think it is time to open a resturaunt featuring a menu based on Steve H’s book, and allows smokers only (or non complaining non-smokers), and has a full service bar.  Think it would be a money maker?

  3. Eating what you want to eat, with no regard for nutrition and the effects of food on your life/body IS YOUR RIGHT!

So is playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE before each meal instead of saying GRACE.

There is no doubt that diet has a direct effect on
the health of one’s body--and besides genetics, diet
is probably the one common link to good or bad health
    that all humans have.

  4. As regards to either bulemia and obesity--extremes of anything are not good.  Why is it most Americans can not understand that?  I fear for the future of this country when every time we turn around some politician is trying to pass laws under the guise of “helping us.”

  5. The G-D government should stay out of people’s personal lives......if people want to eat high fat, high cholesterol food, smoke, not exercise, then let them suffer the consequences.  All it takes is willpower, not excuses.  A good balanced diet, excercise in what ever form a person can tolerate, cook for the kiddoes instead of buying fast foods, cut down or cut out the cigs & alcohol, have yearly health exams........then maybe one might live to enjoy retirement......willpower, willpower!!!!

  6. Willpower scmillpower....

I want to shoot heroin, smoke dope and eat acid.

    Is this not my choice?

Why does the gov’t keep me from killing myself?

(actually I don’t want to do any of that, but I do want to have the right to have access to anything I want to use on my self, whether I will use them should be left to me not the gov’t.  I guess I am just Libertarian that way.)
