I don’t understand why sentencing has to be so deferred in the UK or the USA.
Sure, get the convicting jury out of the building and away ... fine, to me that means come back later on or tomorrow. Then deliver the sentence. It doesn’t need such BS micro-evaluation. That they could establish the perp was a repeat stalker makes mincemeat of the judge’s words: the guy was habitual and obsessive.
PS - a nice bit of hemp snapping taught is a one-off piece of behavior as well, innit??
PPS - set up a portable scaffold out in the field where the crime initiated? Drag the body around to all the supermarkets and lay-bys and have a scene to educate the public that a crime happened there because they weren’t paying attention?
PPPS - how did the perp get her text address, did she get a restraining order or ASBO on him (if not why not) etc - this “relationship” had been going on for some time obviously. DUH, had they ever had a relationship? Is he the violent ex or something??
PPPPS - the scenario in non-urban America: he leaps the hedge knife in hand ... and is a well perforated perp before his feet hit the ground on the other side. Knife, stalker, remote location? No jury would ever convict her. A .357 with 125gr HPs is your best friend.
Drew they do that so that what happened here - does not ‘normally’ happen - guy gets a new trial so that the JURY can hear about his crappy childhood - fortunately it did not work out as he planned and the second jury voted as the first did - guilty, life. But it is for the DEFENSE to come up with as much mitigating evidence (and family criers) as possible. Doubt many of these scum have upstanding references to bring into court.
Want to have your eyeballs (and sense of decency and civility) bleed - read the Dallas story of the woman who got 99 years for gluing her 2 year old daughter’s hands to the wall. Don’t do the ‘sanitized’ msm version - go to the local Dallas. You get that her first kid was born when she was 14, she was in a gang and smoking dope at 11 and she has a new baby (#5) - she’s just 23. Turned out, it wasn’t elmers but super glue (drs at the hospital found skin and paint when they started cleaning up her hands) and glued her eyes shut and kicked her and beat her about the head with a jug of milk. All ‘because’ the toddler wasn’t potty training quick enough.
The prosecution offered 45 years on a plea deal but after the trial - in summation asked for life - seems Ms breeder - just wasn’t admitting any remorse or even the truth while on the stand (it was her oldest who testified as to what happened to the toddler) and her lawyer offered up that her short term goal is to get a job and her long term goal is to get her kids back.
Sad to say that there are 5 bigger losers in this than Mommie Dearest - the state in all their liberal idiotic wisdom - gave the kids to HER MOTHER - the very source of this pathetic waste of gov funds and air.
