  1. No mention of a candidate’s name 60 days before an election, sounds illegal.

    McCain (R-AZ) needs de-programming.

People will fight for their interests before their rights. gun

  3. Tell me if I have anything wrong here.  All non-profit tax exempt organizations are required to demonstrate several characteristics, among them are that they refrain from endorsing candidates and that they use a significant portion of their donations for activities other than fund raising and paying salaries, i.e. helping other people.  For this, they are allowed to be tax exempt.  Although why they would need to be tax exempt if their outflow equals their income, as it is supposed to, escapes me.  But only churches are exempted from property taxes.  Those were the taxes I referred to.  Priests and rabbis pay income taxes on their salaries and are supposed to include a fair appraisal of their living arrangements as well (hahahahah).
As a general tax matter, I would like to see the charitable contribution deduction for income taxes disappear.  It forces the rest of the taxpaying public to make matching contributions to anybody’s choice of charity because the lost revenue has to be made up somehow.  You want to give to charity?  Fine, give, but why I should have to kick in to your pet charity is beyond me.

If you don’t think that churches are political forces now you’re crazy.  You can’t pry Hilary out of whatever pew is convenient on any given Sunday.  You can certainly continue to limit contributions from churches just the same as you do from any other corporation or individual.  And why do you think these churches are so rich?  Catholic schools are closing all over the country.  Churches are all the time holding fund-raising drives to repair their buildings.  The Vatican is tremendously wealthy, but that is a foreign nation and foreign nationals are forbidden from contributing already.

If any of my facts are wrong feel free to direct me to a correction.  I don’t think my conclusions are wrong though.  It’s just another entitlement program

  4. I’ve been to the Vatican and commander0 is right.  The Pope is rich.  You should see just their artwork.

Tax all corporations and let the people go tax free.  That sounds a lot better.  Tax all the Democrats like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, TeRaysa Heinz, George Soros, and all the non-profits (503c-crap) too. bomb

  5. Reminds me of the endless questions about what public schools should teach.  Let’s back up a step and ask if they should exist.  We don’t have public farms—we give out food stamps.

Maybe eliminating the income tax would solve all our problems.  Maybe having the government’s nose a foot up our ass is a problem.
