I’m hoping that someone, anyone with some balls is finally going to face this problem honestly.
What needs doing is the US, China, Japan, South Korea stand together and slap down that little Korean turd once and for all. Problems afterward? Just deal with them.
It’s better than NoKor nukes being Fedex’d to Chicago. Try to deal with that!
I agree with you rudebadger but I really think that the krazy korean’s real desire lies to the south - and obviously with the Dems, msm and current American tv - most of the lunatic leaders truly believe that garbage is what most Americans believe, watch and live like.
After 2 days of watching daytime tv, I realized how vapid, shallow and a real waste of time it is, we have several stations blocked on our tv and other than Sundays and a few shows in the evening - it is rarely on anymore.
The real problem is that nothing probably will be done on this. Once again the PC police who have invoked fear and loathing to neuter the World, will force most to spew ‘talking points’ and stern recommendations of further diplomatic attempts. In other words, nothing.
It would be nice if the UN would shock the World (and especially the Dems) by recommending the Krazy Korean step down immediately, let UN inspectors in immediately or face invasion. But alas such won’t happen and the World will merrily proceed even closer to a WWIII - which now that Iran and NoKo are somewhere far down the nuclear road - means millions will die because of inaction - which of course will be blamed once again on Bush.Boy oh Boy.....
OK - Items to consider
#1 The People’s Republic of China. They’ve condemned the test, but what is their full position? Which course of action will they follow and how do we bend it to our best advantage? If we don’t, I’ll remind you of a quote from a Soviet General on the USSR/Chinese border” “If we kill a million a day, we still have 3 years work ahead of us.”
If we take the satisfying step of nuking North Korea until it’s a glowing crater separating China from South Korea, what will the Chinese do and how do we control it?
Frankly, I can see Japan and South Korea (there’s a wild alliance!) going after North Korea if Kim Il does anything more than make nasty noises. We may not have to be directly engaged at all. Anyone want to bet AGAINST the Japanese having nukes in their arsenal? In that case, I can see China being the anvil to a Korean/Japanese hammer. Twitchy, but possible.
#2 What will they do with their nukes? Kim’s got a track record of selling arms to sicko regimes. I’ll bet Osama and his kindred are getting out their check books right now. This is a big Oh Shit.
Embargo North Korea by Sea? Interesting idea. The Chinese will be an interesting back door for food and lots of other stuff, but will they filter out the really nasty bits? Probably/Mostly.
China is the key. Get them to either invade, or let others invade North Korea and the problem is ugly and deadly, but solvable.
I continue to hold to my view that North Korea remains nothing more or less than a Chicomm cat’s-paw, and that nothing happens in North Korea without Beijing’s consultation and approval. And pious public proclamations from the Chicomms be damned.
Even if the sclerotic Koracomm leadership should seek an independent policy, the North Korean tail is simply not big enough to wag the Chicomm dog.
In fact, they hardly qualify as fleas.

Here’s my take...instead of A-bombing the whole country, let’s do a surgical nuclear strike on Kim Jong Mentally Ill’s presidential palace; once that’s gone, the rest of North Korea should clean up its act verrrry quickly.

Ah, now that Mentally Ill (loved that) has made another threat - it seems that the Chicoms (remember all those wonderful deals that Clinton made with them, that they need to keep)are coming over to the rest of the World’s side. Come on, what does Kim offer anyone (other than the terrorists), even his own people? Riches by dealing with terrorists which cuts down even more countries of the World willing to deal with them. Japan and America are together in this, just as Israel and America (Britain, Australia et al) are together in the Mid East crappola.
I think that President Bush should announce a major buildup of America’s Armed Forces and Weapons - I know that the DNC and Left will go balastic with it - but the RNC/administration should just run the ‘talking points’ of Imawhackjob and Mentally Ill and the violations of the endless ‘peace’ treaties of hamass and hezbullies to drive home the point that the World is on the brink of a WW and we need to be prepared for the worst, not be caught unprepared.
This is not the time to waffle on Homeland Security, the GWOT and the REAL threat to the World by a violent and oppressive bunch of tyrants that want to control the World [omg, I just realized why the lunatic left don’t want to do anything - they have the same desire - they admire these guys and are rooting for them].
If the Dems win on Nov 7th - I think its time to grab your guns and run for the hills.
