Madness always devours itself, Skip, and the donks are no exception.
Names like Jim Taggart, Ivy Starnes, Simon Pritchett, Kip Chalmers, Chick Morrison, Tinky Holloway, Cuffy Meigs and Floyd Ferris come increasingly to mind....
VERY well said, Skipper. There’s a December18 masterpiece by Mark Steyn at http://www.suntimes.com/output/steyn/cst-edt-steyn18.html entitled “Iraq vote leaves Dems looking like the losers” that beautifully expands on your observations, Skip.
Excellent piece by Steyn! I recommend it for everyone here. Thanks, HR!
One thing that has really, really bugged me of late is this:
Who are the people that are polled by the pollsters? Ain’t me. Never been asked, ever. Anyone here has ever, I mean ever, been asked to comment on any present or former Presidents job lerformance in any way that could be construed as a ‘National’ poll?
C’mon, let’s explore this a little.
Anyone?
The Hobo
I’ve never been subjected to any poll on Presidential performance or national issues of any sort. I have been hit by a few local-issue pollsters from time to time, but they did not amount to much.
I regard all pollsters with disdain. As far as I am concerned, they all come into a polling process with a desired result clearly in mind, and that obviously destroys any chance of objectivity.
Q: Do you approve or disapprove of the President’s handling of (you name the topic)?
A1: Disapprove, Bush is a terrible person!
A2: Disapprove, Bush is not pushing the issue nearly hard enough!
A3: Disapprove, Bush is not really the President, Zardoz the Alien is President.
Result: 3 of 3 persons polled disapprove of the President’s handling of (you name the topic).
Man, bad ratings!
You want someone to model your public speaking after, find and watch the complete works of Ronald Reagan. There has never been better. :patriots:
