Quote Of The Day

  1. Isn’t it funny how all politicians of every stripe use phrases like, “return” or “take back” regarding our country, ethics, prosperity, etc etc etc.

I got one question” when was this hey day of a Golden Age? Our past is rife with glory AND shame. We revere Washington and Jefferson and Lincoln and Roosevelt, yet in their days they were vilified for all sorts of real or imagined villainies. We have seen ethical lapses in Congress and the White House that would embarrass a crack dealer under both Republicans, Democrats, Whigs, Tories, etc.

And we have seen boldness, courage and munificence from both.

If Mr. Dean wants to “return” ethics to Washington, maybe he could give real examples of a time when Washington was a paragon of ethical excellence. He, of course, cannot. We, the voters, set the standards. The pols live it out. Politics is NOT the local bridge club (which may, of course, be even more vicious, eh?). It will be a realm of give and take, deals and compromise in the best of situations. Then, there are the guys who are so crooked they screw their socks on, as my ol’ Dad used to say.

No party has exclusive claim either way. It comes down to the individuals involved. Vote for the good guys, reject the bad guys and hope for the best. We do, after all, have 2, 4 and 6-year term limits - WE can limit the bastards and keep the public servants, if we care to.

    R, a 9/11 Democrat.

  2. That’s Bull shit  Rickvid 2gunsfiring

Call a spade a spade.  Screaming Howard Dean is a Socialist.  He was calling for Socialized Medicine this week.  He is the Democrats voted leader.  You freely admit you were or are a Democrat, so like Rush Limbaugh says, “You’re Stuck on Stupid.” banghead

Just repeat after me:  Screaming Howard Dean is a Socialist.

The Skipper used to have an award for posters like you.

So stop sticking up for screaming Howard Dean.  You are lucky you weren’t supporting Hillary.  Next you will be telling us Micheal Moore is a good looking guy.

Vote Republican and pray Screaming Howard Dean leads the Democrats for 10 years. flag

  3. The Screamin’ Deaniac is the perfect spokescritter for the donkeycrats. He goes far beyond the category of Barking Moonbat. He is a Fulminating Rabid Moonbat. Nothing short of a 55 gallon barrel full of thorazine and a nice snug-fitting straitjacket can cure him of his “ills”. Physician, heal thyself…

  4. Z,

Don’t be a brick. If you have read any of my previous, you’d know that your comment on Moore is dim witted as I despise that slug

And as for Dean, my question remains - when was this golden age of ethical utopia? It has never existed in DC. If you think the Republicans have caged this, you are as a-historical as Mikey “the spoon makes me fat” Moore. Dean and his pals are the worst kind of socialists - the “it applies to you but not to me” kind. Just look at how John Edwards blathered on about two Americas and all that, but yet used the tax code to ensure that his taxes were cut waaaayyyy down. Perfectly fine that he structured his business that way, but then to turn about and extol the virtures of higher taxes on “the rich” was hypocrasy of the first water.

I will no more vote a blind party line than I stick with one kind of coffee. Calm your pettit noggin, son.

  5. Rickvid:  No one asked you to vote a blind party line or have just one kind of coffee.  You just sounded like a Deaniac to me when you respond to a Howard Dean post by saying Republicans are corrupt too.

You are exactly correct that Dean is the worst kind of Socialist.

My pettit noggin feels better that you are not a Deaniac.  I can tell because you haven’t said DUDE once in two posts.

I will also agree that most politicians are pretty slimey.

I thank you in advance for your forgiveness.  peace
