2. I was thinking the same thing, shoot the snake. Then I remembered that Australia disarmed all of it’s subjects a few years ago.
   Owning a single-shot Shotgun is probably permissible with the proper paperwork, but I would seriously want a backup shot for that big of a snake.

   Interesting to note that the state returned the snake to the wild, where it will return to nature and compete for scarce food and never come back to easy pickings at this family’s home.  It knows that they are out of pets, after eating the guinea pig, cat and dog!

3. Nosmo I don’t think Australia is disarmed. They may have taken away handguns but rifles and shotguns as far as I know are still allowed to be owned. Maybe someone from Oz can confirm?

4. Highly restricted as to what they were permitted to keep after the government confiscation.

   When the government comes in and forces you to turn in some or all of your firearms, you are effectively disarmed.
   When you have to ask the state for permission to buy an AIRSOFT, then you are a ward of the state.

   Do you seriously expect any Australian to admit to the crime of owning a pump shotgun?

5. A 16.5 foot snake on a eating frenzy is a real problem around a family with pets and small children.  Why on earth would they take away the firearms with beasts like this around?  Common sense not so common.......Einstein
