  1. Hell, I just got back from Laredo. I wonder what the statistics are for Laredo/Neuevo Laredo. I got lucky and didn’t get shot. We should probably withdraw from Laredo. (No shit...)

  2. My husband says you should have taken your conclusion one step further, Skipper - we pull out of DC, OR all become illegals and go there to buy guns on the street ..........................  2gunsfiring
Stanley, having traveled back & forth across the border at Laredo/Nuevo Laredo comparatively recently, YOU have a good idea, too!!  cool smile

  3. Diamond,

Cotullia would be the best place to muster our retreat. I think that we could hold the line at Cotullia.

  4. Cotulla’d work for me, as a temporary holding area - THEN, we march on “Distrito Federale”, aka “DF”, aka Mexico City ........................ we annex down to THEIR southern border, and administer them for about 20 years {while we build an impervious wall on OUR border} - then give it back to the Mexicans ........................ if they foul it up after that, they’re completely on their own ........................ the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo has been violated by the Mexicans ever since it was approved - rather than NAFTA or FTAA, we need to look out for ourselves, first & foremost - Stephen Sailer may have the right idea, with ‘citizenism’ being our criteria for the privilege of living in this country .....................

  5. I am in Austin. I can be there tomorrow. All my weaponry is in Dallas. Could you loan me a pistol and a horse?

  6. Speaking of Casulties, I found this tid bit at LittleGreenFootballs

    http://www.logictimes.com/civilian.htm

I am not a whiz-kid at statistics any more but according to this, you have about the same chance of being killed as a civilian (at least women and children) in Iraq by the good guys as you would driving a car in the US.  So much for the 100,000 dead meme. Whadda about it, Cindy?

  7. And as they say around hereCome back to Detroit, We missed you the first time Even though the homicide rate may have dropped some I’ll bet it’s beteer than Iraq. gun  gun

  8. I’m just curious ‘bout something in this post. How did you figure the firearm death rate? We’ve had an average of 160,000 troops there and 2112 have died. That doesn’t sound like a death rate of 60 per 100,000. I’m absolutely no good with statistics, so if it’s obvious, I won’t be upset if someone points it out to me; however, 160,000 is closer to 100,000 than 2112 is to 60, if you catch my drift. It sounds like a great fact and I’d love to put in front of my friends, but if they called me on it, I wouldn’t be able to back it up. If you could explain how you arrived at the figures you did, that’d be really great. Thanks!!

  9. Akronin-
If you eliminate non-combat deaths and deaths caused by IED’s etc. and concentrate on only deaths caused caused as a result of a firearms, then you would have actual deaths of 96 by firearm, if I am understanding Skippers logic.  Which tells me that all in all, the Islamofacists are pretty poor shots and find it easier to hide bombs in the skirts of women. Which is not to say that I am in favor of staying the course in DC.

  10. Stanley, I have friends who would probably provide you with a horse; far as firearms, haven’t gotten my Glock yet, but I could offer you the loan of my Ms. Mossberg .12 - got her when our daughter & I were on our own, out in the country {30 miles NNE of Houston} and my husband was working outside the U.S. .................... met our daughter on our front porch a couple of times at night, with Ms. Mossberg, when she’d called about being followed on her way home - for some reason, whoever was following her never followed her into our yard ....................... guess they decided they weren’t so attracted to a young lady driving a big Dodge pick up, after all .......................  cool smirk

  11. Where did you get Washington DC’s crime stats? not questioning them, just want to put it in my links if possible. I’ve found figures in the mid to high 70’s, but the more links the better.

  12. OCM-
You are misreading the comments. War isn’t ok. However war is sometimes necessary when all other avenues fail.  The war in Iraq is was morally justified to remove a murderous regime who has engaged in atrocities against ethnic minorities, killed his opponents, and supported terrorists.  This post, at least the way I see it, illustrates the extraordinary efficency with which the war is being fought and the relative lack of casualities ON BOTH SIDES.  There isn’t any evidence that anyone is comparing our soliders to apples and oranges.
