Thank goodness we still have a few judges with common sense here in Alabama. We have a 9 yo and every day when I read and hear stuff like this I get closer and closer to putting her in a small private school or home schooling her until she gets old enough to beat the bat crap out of anyone who touches her. And we are going to make sure she can protect herself.
But, in elementary school you expect the schools to be safe. It breaks my heart for these poor children. And it makes me furious that we have become a society that is so frightened of upsetting the PC gods we let these creatures become more and more agressive. If we really put some teeth in punishing child predators we would get them off the streets. Lock them up forever, throw away the keys and let them prey on each other.
Sorry about the rant ,but, anyone hurting a child makes my blood boil.
Great post Punkins and I am glad that as of 1 June I no longer have to directly deal with the ‘public’ school system, having said that I do worry about 2.5 grandchildren (# 3 due in Oct). It is scary to me what they will face.
It began in an incidious way - we didn’t want to make (shhhhh, the blacks) feel bad because they can’t help being ________ and then when we discovered ‘domestic’ violence, we had to give the guy a break ‘cuz you know how hysterical these women get and besides she didn’t call the police (after the first ‘try to be nicer to him, hon’ visit - what’s the point of that endeavor)[My absolute favorite was the Police Officer who standing in a WOMEN’S SHELTER over the DEAD BODY - said (and I quote) “Why didn’t she just leave him?” ] And then we uncovered ‘incest’ where the guy is sick (i.e. no jail time), but if he did it to someone else’s child - he’d go to jail. And my all time favorite - giving the poor, damaged children of these sickos to his parents, or him (after he killed their mother) - DUH! Where exactly do all these social workers believe the perp learned these behaviors?!? And now the criminals mean more than the crime, the victim and worse society.
You want out of jail, pediphile, rapist, sex offender - fine You get neutered first. No if ands or buts.
Mt heart fills with joy everytime they get put in the slammer never to see the light of day for years.
It’s interesting to me how you picked up on this guy from the get go. People’s body language often tells us a lot about them.
What infuriates me is that all too often in Britain the judges are perverts themselves. On top of that we have this warped reality that is forcing us to accept what only a few years ago would have been beyond the pale. The example below sums up both for me.
Two gay men are allowed to foster young boys. They are investigated by social services after a complaint that they took a photo of one of the boys in the bathroom. They come up with a bullshit excuse and social services (who are terrified of offending the touchy feely diversity police) let them carry on. The abuse continues until finally they are caught and prosecuted. The result one gets five years, the other six. Now in America six years would most likely mean six years, but in pc Britain six years most likely means three. On this occasion I don’t blame the judge as she was just doing it by the book. I blame our mendacious politicians.
Yesterday our beloved leader (cough gag) Blair made a speech about getting tough on crime. The clown has been in power nine years and introduced 40 new articles of law and order legislation. Yet things are no better, and in fact a damn sight worse. Hopefully joe public has worked out that Blair is a lying toerag who will say anything to keep in power. Maybe it will work for him again. After all plenty of people have gotten rich off the gullibility of the public, but somehow I think the people have finally realised the Emperor has actually got no clothes.
All I can say is - was I asleep some where that I missed the world going crazy and just plain stupid. I (used) to read newspapers, I watch the news on tv, I read books (mostly non-fiction, I occassionaly dabble in the Oprah/Montel tv genre (can’t stomach Jerry, Jerry, Jerry though) - I have kids so I’ve perused MTV, VH1, MTV2, E! and all that junk tv (wish they’d go back to playing videos). I’ve had kids in schools since 1981 (last one just graduated in June) - you know PTA, scouts , soccer , football, band and so on and so on and so on. I vote at least every 4 years (come on 30+ years of moving around - absentee made being up on local issues hard). So why do I feel as though all of a sudden stupid, lunatic and a complete lack of common sense is ruling all the world today? What did I miss, why didn’t I get a vote? Everyone I know, pretty much feels the same way, so how did these morons get in charge and manage to keep making the rules?
By the way, LyndonB - no, here in America 6 years would maybe mean 3 years at the longest. In KY when we were living there, a women hired a friend of her sons to kill her hubby. He got like 18 months (I think that the cassette tapes and McDonalds coupons for payment really made the kid look pathetic not dangerous) and he walked out of the trial a free guy - as he’d been in custody for over 11 months!

Whatever happened to public stocks? I would love to see part of these creeps’ sentences include so many weeks in the stocks, with a large sign over their heads detailing their crimes and an assortment of simple bludgeoning instruments handy for the general public to use on them at will. Hell, put someone out there and charge 50 cents a hit. I’d pay 2 dollars for 4 well-placed shots with a 3-iron. Announce the “events” in the newspaper on a weekly basis. Give a discount for the victim’s families. Keep some EMTs on hand so if the creeps pass out from lack of blood they can get a transfusion and be ready for more.
Sure it’s barbaric, but considering how these people behaved to get there, I really wouldn’t feel sorry for them.
