  1. Has any one noticed the huge amounts of foreign aid pouring in to help us in our time of need?  Didn’t think so, I guess that all aid flows out and nothing is returned.

  2. But Andy shame on you. Didn’t you realise the US “only” contributes 0.15% of it’s GDP to charity. Wherease Norway chips in a massive 0.92% Oh wait a minute that’s $16 billion from Uncle Sam and $2 billion from Norway.

Unfortunately the way most of the Europeans are I doubt you will see much foreign assitance from that quarter. I did note that in Britain the Red Cross and the Salvation Army have launched appeals. I wouldn’t give the Red Cross a penny personally as they support too many moonbat causes, but the Salvation Army are good people. I wonder how much of your petro dollars will come back from johnny arab by way of aid? Not much I bet. As you say it’s pretty much a one way street.

  3. I agree with you, Lyndon, in regards to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. Having dealt with both from time to time as a serviceman I’ll take “Sally Ann” over the Red Cross every time. They run a tight ship with no waste and don’t make millionaires out of their executives. I’ll go along with the comment about “johnny arab” too. It’s a one way street with those folks. Expect nothing and you won’t be disapointed.

OCM, our National Guard and regular military can do all kinds of things at once. Guard deployments have been deliberately limited just to cover circumstances like this. The goal has been to deploy no more than 50% of the Guard from any one state. They’ve done pretty well by that too.

You’ll note how quickly we had ships and aircraft on scene for the tsunami last Christmas. There are already ships on station off of New Orleans including USS Bataan, that’s a helicopter carrier, and more on the way from Norfolk and probably Mayport and Pensacola too, if there’s anything presently in Pensacola, that is. I know that there used to be a carrier there for training the future birdmen but I don’t know if it’s there any more.

We’re not going to wait for the UN this time either.
