Good questions, Steel.
(1): I agree with Jack on this one.
(2): Success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get.
(3): Drag band equipment around all over the place, and play the hell out of every gig that comes my way.
(4): Ditto (3).
(5): The dialogue of the movie Forbidden Planet may have the best answer: “We’re all part monsters in our subconscious! So we have laws and religion!”
1. I can’t pick just one because I have two: Brit Hume and Charles Krauthammer. Brit has immense wisdom matched by a maturity that is not apparent in other newsmen who falsely hide their guile behind a facade of pseudo charm. Though tempered and cool, Brit is unafraid to react on camera. I also watched him flog Juan Williams so badly one night Williams could hardly speak afterwards. Williams had put words into Brit’s mouth and Brit would have none of it. Charles Krauthammer is simply brilliant, and he manages to say exactly what needs to be said with a succinctness that makes further debate pointless. Michael Barone is a self-effacing genius.
2. I qualify happiness by saying that the pursuit of it is like walking up a one-way street. Otherwise, it is a matter of temperament, attitude, and outlook. It has everything to do with what people think they want. If people view happiness as an end in itself, they will never find it. If they view it as always just around the corner, they will never find it. Happiness and suffering, like many human traits, share a common bond: They are a part of our everyday lives. We recognize suffering easily enough. It may be that we do not take the time to recognize the happiness.
3. Pay attention to it.
4. Read. Keep the wide view. Refuse to be a victim
5. Nothing. Man was here first.
1: Kim Du Toit.
2: I’ll let you know when i see it.
1. I like Sheppard Smith. He’s wry, funny and his head is in the right place. He won’t talk it to death but he will let know what’s up!
2. Anything that makes me smile or laugh is a happy thing and brings me happiness.
3. In all things ... moderation.
4. Find happiness in as many things as you can.
5. No more then neckties have to do with breathing.
