  1. Skipper, as ever you are spot on. Sadly I guarantee you the British taxpayer will cough up a substantial sum for this deadbeat’s family. One other thing, there was some talk that he also had a counterfeit Home Office stamp in his passport so it was not just a matter of being an illegal. They should round up the rest of his “family” and boot them all out. Better yet they should make Brazilians get visas before they come to Britain. Why do we give “visitors” like Menezes six month visas? Most civilised countries give them 3 months. How many people do you know that can go “on holiday” for six months? Not many I bet.

  2. .... Skipper for President… and Secretary of Defense… and Secretary of Homeland Security… (we gotta get this man a job doing some REAL work somewhere)

  3. I’ve often thought, the rest of the world must look at the Brits and Americans and laugh..........

  4. You have a point, piccalo. We do it to ourselves by contorting ourselves to accommodate to the fullest the principles we espouse. Of course, these principles are twisted and stretched by people who want to use them against us. Consider it the effect of unintended consequences.

  5. To add insult to injury the families of those killed on 7th July will get a mere £7,000 compensation according to the BBC (spit)Which equates to around $19,000 pretty pathetic when you think the Brazilian illegal’s family could get hundreds of thousands.

  6. That £7,000 converts to US$12,464.32, using a currency converter. The point is made though, LyndonB. It’s fucking disgusting. OCM has a good point too, although I had the impression that the 9/11 families got more than $1 million on average I won’t quibble. Again, the point is made.

I will point out that the 9/11 fund was used to protect the airlines, their security companies and others from lawsuits by the families of the victims. The OK City survivors didn’t get anything like that, though they were, and maybe still are, pushing for it after they saw the 9/11 fund set up.
