Useless fuckwit couldn’t even shoot straight. Hopefully the owner takes this prick to the cleaners.
That thug has no business being a cop. He should be kicked off the force and face criminal charges, as well as civil action.
And ditto for the police chief that backed him up.
I watched it. That sick aggressive fuck ought to loose his badge and his freedom. Those were two happy dogs, not being even slightly defensive or territorial. And his first action is to kick one in the head? Sick bastard. He’s got his gun out before he even comes on camera. And the douche can’t even put the dog down properly. He shoots it and it goes limping away, still wagging its tail. Oooh, hang this bastard.
Maybe they should give the pigs dog lessons. Or not hire any cop who isn’t a dog person. Because I am a dog person, and I can talk down most frightened aggressive dogs in short order. No, I’ve never dealt with “weaponize” ghetto dogs, just pets. Get the owners over being apprehensive and the dogs quickly pick up the que. With no owners around, deal with the dogs. Or stay in your damn pigmobile and use the loud hailer and the frickin siren, you cat coddling coward.

But tell me you didn’t see that as a reason, if not THE reason? The cop was culturally primed to hate dogs.

Hey Drew as far as defining what kind of a**hole Officer Tarek Hassani is, why not take the all of the above option?
He killed a friendly dog. He cursed a disabled man and threatened him with immediate arrest after brutally shooting the man’s dog. I hate people like that. I class them with child rapists.
fwiw - First I wrote a nasty (but legal) email to Chief Reeves, then I sent details including the emails for Chief Reeves and Mayor Dunn to my list. Hopefully, it will help make a**holes like Reeves and Hassani aware they have done something wrong.
I’m still pissed, so I sent an email to Mayor Dunn. I don’t think it will make him smile.
Umm - question - am I correct that these dogs appear to be Retrievers of some kind? You can’t get a real serious dog bite from a Retriever (an uncle bred Goldens - and kept us supplied during my childhood) as they have a soft bite. Retrievers have to be ‘in on a kill’ to lose that - my brothers last Golden was taken over to the dark side by my mutt who was still used to killing to eat - it cost us 30 chickens at a neighbors farm once. So the cop was in no real jeopardy.
Second question - the story said that these were service dogs - or one was. That is a serious offense to shoot a service dog. I wonder as the dogs seemed too happy and wiggly - most service dogs are more sedate - but I admit I’ve never seen one out of harness.
I still go with what my first reaction to this was - There HAS to be an Animal Control person in every single area (and that doesn’t seem to be all that rural and small townish) - that person should be the one to do this type of incident call. And for goodness sake - loose dogs is NOT a reason to shoot, ever.
As Drew said - if you are so damn stupid and/or scared - stay in your car.
This guy is a danger - to all - people and animals alike. Someone who provokes violence and then immediately escalates it - does not belong in uniform.
And Dr. Jeff - where did you get the Mayor’s email? I would love to send him a note too.

No worries Peiper, I don’t care; it’s either going to be from you or him, since the ladies haven’t made a post in years now. :-| And I add bits to yours, links pics etc, from time to time. But I shouldn’t edit so far as to change the nature of the post. This cop is a lunatic. Whether he got there from being a muslim is beside the point. Probably having to go out on a call on a cold wet day was all that was needed to set him off.
I hope thousands of people write the mayor and police chief of that town. Get that menace removed. Imagine how he’d act if your kids were having a loud party??
Pure power tripping. He is not a public servant, he does not protect the people, people need protecting from him!
P.S. I got a polite and very neutral acknowledgement of my email from the Mayor’s office. Nothing yet from the Police Chief.

I sent this to my old boss at the Post Office. Told her to try to start a training program to teach police how to handle dogs without shooting them. In 22 years of mail delivery I only remember pepper-spraying a dog three times. The dogs in this vid? I’d have patted my chest and said “come here boys” and been licked to death.
