  1. Oh yeah, this one will be that one that REALLY works.

On the plus side, aren’t the Frenchies supplying hostages, er, troops, to this new UNIFIL?

Hell, the world can blog on that for years to come.

Why waste time, just nuke Damascus and Tehran now.

  3. Well, at least hezbollah’s fake acceptance tells us Isrial is beating them up.

  4. He said that “hezbollah would continue fighting as long as Israeli remained”
The picture is seen!  Lebanon is a country for the taking, and hezbollah needs
    a country.
I think we must not let this happen.

  5. Peace in our time. What a crock. You can’t arrange a truce or a treaty with people whose very reasons for going to war with you is in the hopes of your destruction. The incompetent world community and the spineless Olmert will find themselves realizing that the war was only prolonged and delayed, not ended by this pathetic agreement.

  6. Skipper we have seen what happens when they put a “peacekeeping force” into Lebanon. The fanatics are everywhere and will just use the UN troops as a convenient location to launch fresh attacks. Once as you say they have restocked. We made this mistake before and a lot of Americans paid the ultimate price for this folly. I don’t really understand why we have bullied Israel into accepting this crap but sadly the oil barons have a lot of leverage nowadays. In some ways it may work out ok if the “peacekeepers” are fwench then I can see Israel taking the “business as usual” approach. There is no love lost between these two countries. The fwench have become increasingly hostile to Israel as the muslims continue to swell their ranks. The Israelis may back off for a while, but if as I feel is most likely the muslim fascists start firing rockets. The Israelis will respond and if there are UN troops on the ground they are likely to take a beating. What Israel needs is a 20 mile wasteland where no one lives as their border. Actually Rudebadger is probably right. Why put off the inevitable? Bomb Iran now!

  7. I do not comprehend after how many failed ‘peace’ negotiations that once again here we are. Same with Saddam, same as in the past (heck even the great and mighty Jimmy Carter’s magnificent peace treaty lasted what, all of 5 seconds?!?) and it just gives time for Iran to nuke someone - then where will Israel, the US and the World be. Oh yeah, exactly where is is now - on the brink of a world war - except that thousands more innocents will be dead.

Saw a wonderful t-shirt - nuke cloud in the middle surrounded by the words - Iran wants nukes? Let’s give them Nukes!

I like it and think it’s way past time - I know, how about a small test run against Hezbollah first?

  9. Pop over to Captain Ed’s place and check out http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/007793.php

It would seem that, despite unanimous acceptance of the cease-fire from the U.N., Israel and Lebanon, there’s a monkey wrench in the works.  Hezbollah won’t play!

...The cease-fire proposal put the onus on them [Hezbollah] to cease their attacks on Israel and to dismantle their military wing. I warned earlier that such a requirement would eliminate the need for Hezbollah at all;…

    and ends with…

Either Lebanon enforces the UN resolution, or it reveals itself as a puppet of Hezbollah. Either way, the Israelis win, and Nasrallah knows it.

Interesting take on the whole conflict, with Israel projected to continue the sweep into the Bekaa Valley as the Army wants, despite limp-noodle Olmert’s Kerry-esque waffling.

    Go IDF!
