One of my fondest dreams is to swim with dolphins {when Dawn was little, my FIRST expense when I “won the lottery” would be to take her to the northwest coast of Australia, and swim with the wild dolphins} - thank you for a wonderful picture and story, Skipper!
I always loved the legend of Pelorus Jack ........................ http://www.pelorus-jack.com/about/legend.html

Screw the flipper.
What kind of shark was it and where’s ITS photo?
Inquiring mind wants to know.
“Have you hugged your shark today?”
SCREW YOU AND YOUR DAMNED SHARKS, TWERP!
THOSE DOLPHINS WERE OUR FRIENDS, DAMMIT!
FOAD!
Sounds like fisherman’s tales to me Skipper where’s the photos of the catch? Great photo btw.
Lyndon, the evidence is in my latest post. I have provided pictures for all of you “doubting thomases”.
So, Skipper, Inquiring Minds Want To Know. What’s BMEWS’ Official Camera?
NOW I see why the Cap’n was testy today (Friday) and published his phish photos.
“‘Ghoti’ smells ‘fish’.”
I suspect that the capacity to play is restricted to mammals. Birds seem a serious, sober and focused sort.
Used to watch the dolphins or porpoise (I can never tell the difference) ride the bow wave of my tin-cans. I think I have pics somewhere of three of them doing that. I need to find some way of scanning slides.
No, OCM, I haven’t tried that. I was thinking of something that I could use on my own scanner.
I took literally hundreds of pics while I was in the Navy. Everything from Polaris submarine missile launches to the NATO chaplain dangling below a helicopter as he was being lifted off or our ship.
I suppose I should dig through the pile and find the ones that I really want and see what it’ll cost to have them scanned to a file. I’d still rather do it on my own gear, though.
Thanks for the link, OCM. That last pic is a beauty.
I’m reasonably sure that one of the brochures that came with this scanner said that there was an attachment available to enable slide scanning. Damned if I can find one, though.
