  1. ** Obama: The Quicker Fucker-Upper. Love it. Taking it. Using it. Thank you OCM and Vilmar.

What I can’t believe my eyes - OCM is against The One (tm) - Wow will wonders never cease.

And I guess that means I am still on the right side.

I read somewhere (just this morning too - oh well, getting old sucks) that this Generational Theft Act is not getting the love that The One (tm) thought it would - even from Democrats.

Because you know - there is liberal and then there is barking moonbat crazy - and The One (tm) is showing himself to be of the latter grouping and the sane (ok not sane but just want to get elected ever again) Democrats see that going too far means that even they just might be out of a job come their next re-election bid.

Cincinnati OH is having a Tea Party on March 15, 2009 at 3 to 5PM on Fountain Square and the National Tea Party is going to be April 15, 2009. Party like its 1773.

I Want Obama to Fail. My new motto for the month.

Sheeze this empty suit, inexperience political thug hack couldn’t even make it 100 days before exposing himself. The remaining 1418 days should be a hoot.

  2. While I agree that many of the expenses pointed out are probably unfounded, the writer shows a little ignorance of geography.

Alabama’s coast is on the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile is a major shipping center and the new home for a steel magnate. Hurricanes create havoc with this area.

So the University of Alabama requesting research money for the Gulf of Mexico makes perfect sense.

  3. And another geographic note: The Thunder Bay Marine Sanctuary said to be in the Upper Peninsula is actually on lake Huron in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

I live in the Upper Peninsula and wondered why I had never heard about it.  I found their website but no mention of the grant.  It seems to be an NOAA marine sanctuary dedicated to Lake Huron Shipwrecks.  Perhaps something we could hold off on stimulating.  The “telepresence” might be for some type of dive camera.

  4. True, Alabama has a teensy little 55 mile wide bit of Gulf Coast, a little slice west of the Florida panhandle and east of Mississippi, which also has a relatively small bit of coastline too. But since the entire world can find out the wind strength and direction, air temperature, humidity, water temperature, current flow, tidal change, air masses in the vicinity, and hurricane history all at the click of a mouse, do you think this is getting us anything new?

And yeah, I screwed up with Michigan. Never having been there, but having heard the “upper peninsula” term many many times, I completely did not realize where the UP really is. Not that it makes me any less foolish, but I bet a whole lot of people not from there, or from around there, see a map and think: Michigan = Boxing glove. “Thumb” = lower peninsula, “Fist” = upper peninsula. That bit up by Canada? If we notice it at all, we think it belongs to Wisconsin, since it’s attached. Or maybe Minnesota. Sorry. Many national maps, paper or digital, only label the LP as Michigan. That other chunk is mystery land at best. And part of it is Canada to boot.

  5. I suspect that the wiki entry is tax returns filed, NOT tax payers.
