We have two kitties that live outside from a neighbor - actually it was three but the black and white disappeared when she was taken to a nursing home during the Feb big snow. She used to lift her garage door and lock it open - just enough for the cats to get inside when cold or wet. I want to feed the two kitties - but the last time I tried it - our yard looked like a fast food joint for wild critters. Which entertained our indoor kitties - but I did not like the wild creatures so close to the house. My daughter is worried about the kitties with the coming cold weather - but she realized that if she called the SPCA - because of their lack of human socialization - that they would probably be euthanized. So when the first cold snap comes - I might put kitty chow out in the front - we shall see.
Funny thing was - we had a chipmunk make his home out in the front - we put out rabbit/small animal food both in the front and back for him - not a hit with the other wild critters. Go figure.
I have no clue as to why the daughter is not selling the house - nor living in it. But I did see a cat in the house for a while and the lawn is mowed weekly - so I don’t know what is going on. Except that two of her kitties are still running around loose.
