  2. Had 2 - the flat kind with the holes, and the feeler gauge kind with the little saw blade thingies. Lost ‘em both over the years.

  3. I figured you did but commenting on your work and days threads are tricky.
Oh, In case we all forgot today is D DAY and we should all remember what hell and war was really like. Thanks to all our fathers and grandfathers and uncles who sacrificed for us .

  4. Yes Drew - I have a bread machine (my 2nd) that one itty bitty little piece (the seal at the bottom around the mixer) is broken - company bought by another and alas - does not make bread machines any more - Yepper it is so much fun attempting to get a ‘part’ (same for the water-pik I have - the company has moved onto supper duper & stock the old parts - NO WAY). I’ve tried a couple of hardware stores - but everyone is into - Buy New.

Rich - watching the Military Channels D-Day show - I just do not know how those men stepped off those boats into certain hell - and kept going forward. If you read The Long Road Home - seems that despite the li(e)brals takeover of all things cultural in America - We still have those young men & women in America today. Gives me real Hope for a Change in the future of America.

  5. I got plenty of work for you at The Stevens’ Bar and Pool Hall too.

Too damned hot outside now though.

  6. Old Cat - a quart of boiling water, a cup of Borax, and one of those bellows style plumber’s helpers will do you just fine.

Assuming you don’t have a sink full of water, and just a clogged drain: mix the Borax in the water then pour it down the drain. Wait half an hour, then a few firm strokes with the plunger will clear just about anything. Compared to the old suction cup style plunger, the bellows design really really works. Often just using the plunger itself will clear most clogs.

If you don’t want to mix your own, go get a can of crystal Drano. Pour a generous measure down the drain, followed by a cup or two of cold water. Crystal Drano is nearly an explosive, seriously!, and will generate lots of heat and chemical action to clean out your pipes.
