  1. Good riddance, one less moonbat to pollute young skulls full of mush (as Rush call’s our yoots).  The group of “student” hooligans who destroyed the crosses should also be held liable for their stupid actions.  soapbox

  2. Hmmmm.  Must not be a Professor of Political Science or History.  If she was, she’d remember John Locke’s idea that individual rights were/are God-given.  Among those rights are life, liberty and the ownership of property (or happiness according to Jefferson).

Anti-abortion, in the minds of many, equals life.  Liberty, in the minds of many, equals the freedom to peacefully express an opinion.  Private property was destroyed by a group of what might be described as Neo-Fascists.

Looks like to me, she was wrong on three counts of academic interpretation.

    BITCH!!!!!!

  3. I’ll say it again:  This is who we pay and send our (adult) children to be educated by?  Wow.

Yep MAJ, more leftist, liberal hypocrisy.  And by the way, I’m more of a Hobbesian kind of guy myself...but that’s a discussion for another time. tongue wink

  4. I told my youngest she wasn’t going there if she was accepted (it’s one of 3 colleges she applied to). She had already decided on #1 choice only as #3 is claiming we never paid the application fee (check has already cleared the bank) and this is a pleasent local college - but compared to #1 - just not worth the negatives associated with it.

She has her head on straight, already has a plan for if not accepted at her #1 choice. She has applied to Disneyworld to work for the summer - will just extend it and reapply as often as she can.

[We homeschooled last year and neither the school system nor the local homeschooling group supported us with info on the SAT/ACT, so she ended up missing them until this year and so her scores weren’t available). You’d think with her being #4 I’d have this down to a drill - but alas, the first 2 did it all themselves and #3 is still vegging in his room (i.e. couldn’t care less)].

  6. Shinjinrui:  Yep, I see humans as basically evil and requiring adult supervision.

The key to both Hobbs and Locke is the concept of a social contract with government.  According to Locke when the government fails to honor its end of the deal, then the people have the right and obligation to revolt.

Additonally, Locke differed with Hobbs in saying that we did not give up all of our rights to government, because its impossible to give up things that are granted by God.  Apparently this is where modern members of Academia part company with the rest of us.  They don’t believe in God and therefore Government is the source of all human rights.

Whatever, I remain a heavily armed pacifist who believes in both Locke and God.
