Once they get single shot laws in place, they’ll go after cartridge power, and soon limit you to .22 Short rimfire ammunition only. But not hollow points! And it will be sold in packages of 5 rounds, each one with a $50 tax, and a $25 dual federal background check (NICS) and a state one. And this will all be called “protecting the Second Amendment” and a) you’ll live with it gladly, and b) your grandchildren won’t know the world was ever different. Police and government troops won’t be under such limits, and their power will be limitless.

Drew - Keep the faith, buddy. There are plenty of loons who will introduce crap like this, and it may even pass in a few places, but there are many other states where it will get laughed out of the capital building. Not to mention the legal challenges that await this nonsense.

I agree - what insanity - talk about a knee jerk reaction. The left does want to take this to another civil war. Won’t that be a hoot (NOT) but I still rest on that the majority of America(ns) are NOT what is the liberals, State media and politicos. And the left have not thought this through - it can end up being worse for them than them ‘winning’.
The very people they are set against - own guns, have the moral/core foundation of a God centered belief and of course are the hard working (usually) employed. Yes the gang/criminals of the inner cities will reek a bit of havoc. But those who are on the dole - they are going to turn on their ‘leaders’ when they don’t get their bennies and while a few might join ‘the cause’ for the money - come on people, these are stupid, lazy slugs who truly believe that they deserve to be given everything for nothing. Because they are so stupid to believe that people who attended school, got a job and worked - got everything for nothing too.

I’m more impressed with the proposed Texas law which makes it illegal to enforce any federal gun control law within the state.

The Supreme Court already ruled that states can not be compelled to enforce most federal laws which is why they usually tie funding of everything they give back to compliance with whatever stupid crap they want the states to enforce for them.

In the aftermath of the tragic Newtown shooting, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), together with the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the FBI have worked to identify measures that could be taken to reduce the risk of mass casualty shootings. In the coming days, DHS will expand and formalize coordination of ongoing efforts intended to prevent future mass casualty shootings, improve preparedness, and to strengthen security and resilience in schools and other potential targets. DHS will work with partners at all levels of government, to address five critical areas intended to reduce the risk of mass casualty shootings in the United States: Prevention, Protection, Response, Education, and Research/Evaluation. DHS will also work with law enforcement to refresh, expand and prioritize the implementation of nationwide public awareness efforts such as the “If You See Something, Say Something™” campaign. This is a critical issue that requires immediate attention and I look forward to supporting the President and this Administration as we move ahead.
