One Round, One State, One Lunatic

Once they get single shot laws in place, they’ll go after cartridge power, and soon limit you to .22 Short rimfire ammunition only. But not hollow points! And it will be sold in packages of 5 rounds, each one with a $50 tax, and a $25 dual federal background check (NICS) and a state one. And this will all be called “protecting the Second Amendment” and a) you’ll live with it gladly, and b) your grandchildren won’t know the world was ever different.  Police and government troops won’t be under such limits, and their power will be limitless.

  2. Drew - Keep the faith, buddy. There are plenty of loons who will introduce crap like this, and it may even pass in a few places, but there are many other states where it will get laughed out of the capital building. Not to mention the legal challenges that await this nonsense.

    Stay strong.

  3. New York, Connecticut, Massachussets, California, and most especially, Illinois: FAGGOT STATES!

  4. I agree - what insanity - talk about a knee jerk reaction. The left does want to take this to another civil war. Won’t that be a hoot (NOT) but I still rest on that the majority of America(ns) are NOT what is the liberals, State media and politicos. And the left have not thought this through - it can end up being worse for them than them ‘winning’.

The very people they are set against - own guns, have the moral/core foundation of a God centered belief and of course are the hard working (usually) employed. Yes the gang/criminals of the inner cities will reek a bit of havoc. But those who are on the dole - they are going to turn on their ‘leaders’ when they don’t get their bennies and while a few might join ‘the cause’ for the money - come on people, these are stupid, lazy slugs who truly believe that they deserve to be given everything for nothing. Because they are so stupid to believe that people who attended school, got a job and worked - got everything for nothing too.

A single shot gun - it sounds as though this guy is just wanting the 15 minutes of fame - by out doing the NY assembly.

What fun - idiots attempting to out do idiots - talk about shooting oneself in the foot (if I may).

    Molon labe.

  5. I’m more impressed with the proposed Texas law which makes it illegal to enforce any federal gun control law within the state.

I seriously need to come up with the money to move back there.

  6. The Supreme Court already ruled that states can not be compelled to enforce most federal laws which is why they usually tie funding of everything they give back to compliance with whatever stupid crap they want the states to enforce for them.
    It’s called the 10th Amendment:
The Tenth Amendment states the Constitution’s principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution, nor prohibited to the States, are reserved to the States or the people.
“Not that anyone in DC gives a shit about that old rag”

  7. Primarily this:
In 1997, the Court again ruled that the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act violated the Tenth Amendment (Printz v. United States, 521 U.S. 898 (1997)). The act required state and local law enforcement officials to conduct background checks on persons attempting to purchase handguns. Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, applied New York v. United States to show that the law violated the Tenth Amendment. Since the act “forced participation of the State’s executive in the actual administration of a federal program”, it was unconstitutional.

  8. Any, and every, gun control law written anywhere in the country since 1791 is UN-Constitutional. Very simply, in order to join the union you had to agree to the Constitution of said union. While you had much freedom supposed in the 10th Amendment, likewise you were restricted from certain things by all the rest.

  9. You folks ready for the bad news?  I spotted this little item on Drudge.  The Department of Homeland Security is getting into the act.  Note the careful and bland sounding choice of words.  Consider just how the phrase;

DHS will expand and formalize coordination of ongoing efforts intended to prevent future mass casualty shootings

can be interpreted.  Remember, these are the people who have been conducting warrantless searches at high school proms!

Here’s the complete article from The Weekly Standard, followed by the link.

Janet Napolitano, head of the Department of Homeland Security, released a statement Wednesday saying she is “proud to support” the Obama administration’s efforts to “combat gun violence in our country.” Here’s more from Napolitano’s statement:

In the aftermath of the tragic Newtown shooting, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), together with the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the FBI have worked to identify measures that could be taken to reduce the risk of mass casualty shootings.  In the coming days, DHS will expand and formalize coordination of ongoing efforts intended to prevent future mass casualty shootings, improve preparedness, and to strengthen security and resilience in schools and other potential targets. DHS will work with partners at all levels of government, to address five critical areas intended to reduce the risk of mass casualty shootings in the United States:  Prevention, Protection, Response, Education, and Research/Evaluation. DHS will also work with law enforcement to refresh, expand and prioritize the implementation of nationwide public awareness efforts such as the “If You See Something, Say Something™” campaign. This is a critical issue that requires immediate attention and I look forward to supporting the President and this Administration as we move ahead.

DHS to ‘Expand and Formalize Coordination’ on Gun Control Efforts

    We’re in trouble.
