  2. I always remember my Grandfather berating me for not putting enough butter on his bread. If he had his way it would have been a quarter inch thick. He lived into his late 70’s and smoked Woodbines most of his life. These clowns telling people what they can and can’t eat should take a running jump.

  3. > From next year fathers who refuse to be named on the birth certificate or mothers
    > who do not record the father’s name will be liable for a £200 fine.

Is there any corner of people’s personal lives this government won’t try to muscle in on and come up with an excuse to tax/fee/fine people for?

When do the torches and pitchforks come out?

  4. I sort of agree with your Argentium - except I’ve seen the common sense reasoning behind it - in one state nearby - they use it to attempt to get child support.  Now granted their definition of child support is not my definition of child support but as in my neighbor - when she moved back here - low and behold she started getting cs payments which continued until her daughter was 30 - since he’d basically not ever made a payment. However the down side is my daughter just spent a fortune getting a worthless bum off the birth certificate - to protect her son from his new wife who wanted visitation - ‘since we’re paying all this money’ (translation he is thousands behind and so now his tax refund goes to his son). My daughter now has sole custody as he botched that (as he has done everything since the child was born).

I believe in accountability - and responsibility - I do not however believe now in the State forcing it upon anyone at all ever. And a fine - get over it.

The other problem is that even in stable intact families - for babies - most men don’t get involved - so why in the heck is the Nanny State attempting to force that upon men whose very non-presence indicates that they don’t even care?

Maybe if the ‘dole’ and welfare weren’t ever instituted - this would never have occurred in such numbers - so is this another Lie-beral failed policy now going amuck?
