  1. I am dragging on my Christmas cards - because it’s so darn cold and wet here - I can only write 3 at a time.

I saw the cardiologist on Friday - a good experience. The lab tech on the other hand was a bad experience. She screwed up the simple blood draw (one tube, it’s been like forever and a day since one tube only was drawn) - and then lectured me about being tense. I was so shocked and scared I didn’t say anything but I did mention it on the tell us survey that they sent the next day. Yes, I’m a coward - no matter how tough I talk!

Both above - just proves getting old sucks.

  2. Oh, I’ve had those bad lab techs too. Maybe it’s my fault that I’m not the hardbody that I was at 23, but back then I used to donate blood several times a year for ages. One stick and they had that big needle in me. Now I get annual blood work done and it’s jab jab jab in one arm then the other, then they have to wiggle the needle around repeatedly. I wind up bruised on both inner elbows for a week. OTOH, maybe these people just suck at their jobs.

  3. They suck at their jobs. They need the Army Combat Techs to train them. I remember the Tech at the ER when my son came in - they got the Central line in quickly and this young man kept trying to get an IV in one of his arms. A nurse came up and told him to quit - ‘they already have the central line in’ - he refused - said he was going to get another IV in. His head Doc at Shriners said one of the reasons he survived is that he was the best ‘packed’ (proper burn care done) at an ER that he had ever gotten at the hospital. Me however, since about my mid-twenties - it’s been a pain to draw blood if I am sick - now it’s the cold. I am always cold (one of the symptoms of my many conditions - believe me it sucks when the heart, lungs and kidneys all go bad at the same time). But I’ve taken’ a lickin and I’m still tickin!

I think that Joey has gone over the rainbow bridge. Last Wed was the last day I can remember seeing him. I took a walk about down the hill - from the gate over to the 3rd steps up. Actually despite our lack of work - except for an errant tree - it wasn’t that bad down there - the leaves did a good job on the overgrowth. I startled a deer - but no cat body to be seen. Unless he was up under the shed or the deck - but I smelled nothing bad. Then the snow came. Meanwhile Sissy has become a nasty little piece of work. I think my neighbor has stopped feeding her (I understand, she’s had two surgeries and has not been working for at least two years) but she hisses at me. I talk to all the cats and dogs that come around don’t touch them - heck even the opossum and raccoons - I talk to all the animals. Going to be a long, hard winter for all of them. It’s suppose to start snowing again today. Yeah.

Made two batches of cookies - only one done - as I could not find my frosting colors (the packets of dried, natural ones were little bricks, oh my). Struggled - but those two were the most labor intensive. Going to do a few (half-batches) of choco chip and sugar cookies to finish that off. I’m thinking I might put all (well, almost all) of my baking stuff up for sale - a few of the things I haven’t used but once. 4 boxes downstairs and 2 (plus a drawer with the tips and mini cutters) in the kitchen. Time to let it go and maybe make a buck or two. After the holidays, maybe.
