3. Drew those levels seem really low. Shell regular unleaded here is 95 RON, V-Power Nitro+ is rated at 99 RON. Its expensive, but my car seems to burn cleaner. The engine uses direct fuel injection into the cylinder, not into the inlet manifold. The problem with this is the exhaust gas recirculation leads to coking up the inlet valves as there is no fuel to wash it off. Mitsubishi have had a process of using a walnut shell decoker to remove the build up as cars were going horribly wrong with low mileage. Mitsubishi couldn’t understand why it was happening as they have the exact same car in Japan but had not encountered the issue there. It turns out the problem is the shitty gas we have here compared to Japan. Since I found this out I have been sticking to the premium unleaded.
