On This Day In History

 

1. I watched this as it happened and at the time I thought maybe, just maybe that it might work. I senced for the first time compassion from some of the Chinese forces. In that they refrained from running this Hero over. But, I guess I was wrong.  Maybe some day.

2. As I recall, the local Beijing garrrison refused to open fire or take strong action. It was rural units, who resented and hated the city folks anyhow, who did the evil deeds.

3. And communism is good how? I can’t understand how in this day and age, people think that these regimes (and they really are regimes) are of benefit to the common people. Again and again and again, they are shown to be brutal, repressive, unequal and decadant societies. And yet so many in America extoll their virtures over the truly free, open, land of opportunity that these self same communist cheerleaders choose to live in. . .  and yet we are supposed to be convinced that communism it the best
